they entered [even] into the home (17:5) |
فَجَاسُوا خِلَالَ الدِّيَارِ |

Arriving thereby in the center collectively (100:5) |
فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا |

when the sheep of a people overran it (21:78) |
نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ |

نَفَشَ-يَنْفُشُ |
a record which he will encounter spread open. (17:13) |
كِتَابًا يَلْقَاهُ مَنشُورًا |

مَنْشُورٌ |
he would be given scriptures spread about. (74:52) |
يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً |
spread |
مُنْشَرٌّ |
it is those whose effort is ever it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allah] (17:19) |
فَأُولَـٰئِكَ كَانَ سَعْيُهُم مَّشْكُورًا |
appreciated |
مَشْكُورٌ |
never has the gift of your Lord been restricted. (17:20) |
وَمَا كَانَ عَطَاءُ رَبِّكَ مَحْظُورًا |
restricted |
مَحْظُورٌ |
while the offering was prevented from reaching its place of sacrifice (48:25) |
وَالْهَدْيَ مَعْكُوفًا أَن يَبْلُغَ مَحِلَّهُ |
prevented |
مَعْكُوفٌ |
and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible." (25:22) |
وَيَقُولُونَ حِجْرًا مَّحْجُورًا |
Prevented inaccessible Reserved |
مَحْجُورٌ |
nd [thereby] become censured and forsaken (17:22) |
فَتَقْعُدَ مَذْمُومًا مَّخْذُولًا |
forsaken |
مَخْذُولٌ |
so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace. (22:45) |
فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ |
abandoned |
مُعَطَّلَةٌ |
indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned (25:30) |
إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوا هَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُورًا |
abandoned |
مَهْجُورٌ |
say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them (17:23) |
فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَا أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا |

نَهَرَ-يَنْهَرُ |
And so are strong in repelling (evil), (37:2) |
فَالزَّاجِرَاتِ زَجْرًا |

زَجْرٌ |
|
|
repel |
زَاجِرَةٌ ج زَاجِرَاتٌ |
And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy (17:24) |
وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ |

ذُلٌّ |
My lord , have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small. (17:24) |
رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا |
brought up |
رَبَّى-يُرَبِّي |
So is one brought up in ornaments (43:18) |
مَن يُنَشَّأُ فِي الْحِلْيَةِ |
brought up in ornaments |
نَشَّأَ-يُنَشِّئُ |
and do not spend wastefully (17:26) |
وَلَا تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا |
spend wastefully |
بَذَّرَ-يُبَذِّرُ (تَبْذِيرٌ) |
|
|
who wastes |
مُبَذِّرٌ ج مُبَذِّرُونَ |
He likes not those who commit excess. (7:31) |
إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْ رِفِينَ |
commit excess, spend excess |
مُسْرِفُونَ |
then speak to them a gentle word. (17:28) |
فَقُل لَّهُمْ قَوْلًا مَّيْسُورًا |
gentle |
مَيْسُورٌ |
My Lord has humiliated me (89:16) |
فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ |
humiliated |
هَوْنٌ |
And whoever is killed unjustly (17:33) |
وَمَن قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا |
unjustly |
مَظْلُومٌ |
Indeed, he has been supported [by the law]. (17:33) |
إِنَّهُ كَانَ مَنصُورًا |
supported |
مَنْصُورٌ ج مَنْصُورُونَ |
And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary (5:46) |
وَقَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِم بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ |
footsteps |
قَفَا-يَقْفُو |
about all those [one] will be questioned. (17:36) |
كُلُّ أُولَـٰئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْئُولًا |
questioned |
مَسْئُولٌ |
you will never reach the mountains in height. (17:37) |
وَلَن تَبْلُغَ الْجِبَالَ طُولًا |
height |
طُولٌ |
And for [striking] them are maces of iron. (22:21) |
وَلَهُم مَّقَامِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ |
iron |
حَدِيدٌ ج حِدَادٌ |
Then they will nod their heads toward you (17:51) |
فَسَيُنْغِضُونَ إِلَيْكَ رُءُوسَهُمْ |

أَنْغَضَ-يُنْغِضُ |
the punishment of your Lord is ever feared (17:57) |
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ كَانَ مَحْذُورًا |

مَحْذُورٌ |
The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding (54:6) |
يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ |

نُكُرٌ |
Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful. (76:10) |
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا |
Day austere |
قَمْطَرِيرٌ |
And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice |
لَا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ |

صَوْتٌ ج أَصْوَاتٌ |
and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers (17:64) |
وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ |
assault |
أَجْلَبَ-يُجْلِبُ |
They are almost on the verge of assaulting those who recite to them Our verse (22:72) |
يَكَادُونَ يَسْطُونَ بِالَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا |
assaulting |
سَطَا-يَسْطُو |
become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them (17:64) |
وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ |
partner |
شَارَكَ-يُشَارِكُ |
that you are [all] sharing in the punishment (43:39) |
أَنَّكُمْ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ |
sharing |
مُشْتَرِكٌ ج مُشْتَرِكُونَ |
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night (17:78) |
أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ |

دُلُوكٌ |
And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you (17:79) |
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهِ |
Tahajjud pray |
تَهَجَّدَ-يَتَهَجَّدُ |
And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period (17:106) |
وَقُرْآنًا فَرَقْنَاهُ لِتَقْرَأَهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ عَلَىٰ مُكْثٍ |
separated [by intervals] |
مُكْثٌ |
And they fall upon their faces weeping (17:109) |
وَيَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ يَبْكُونَ |
faces |
ذَقْنٌ ج أَذْقَانٌ |
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people (31:18) |
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ |

خَدٌّ |
Thou wouldst only, perchance, fret thyself to death, following after them, in grief (18:6) |
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ |

بَاخِعٌ |
Verily what is on earth we shall make but as dust and dry soil (without growth or herbage). (18:8) |
وَإِنَّا لَجَاعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًا جُرُزًا |
dry soil |
جُرُزٌ |
and it will become a smooth, dusty ground, (18:40) |
فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيدًا زَلَقًا |
smooth, |
زَلَقٌ |
He will leave them as plains smooth and level (20:106) |
فَيَذَرُهَا قَاعًا صَفْصَفًا |
smooth |
صَفْصَفٌ |
thou seest the earth barren and lifeless (22:5) |
وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةً |
lifeless |
هَادِمَةٌ |
and dispose of our affair for us in the right way (18:10) |
وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا |
right way |
هَيَّأَ-يُهَيِّئُ |
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand (54:32) |
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ |
easy |
يَسَّرَ-يُيَسِّرُ |
read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you) (73:20) |
فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ |
easy |
تَيَسَّرَ-يَتَيَسَّرُ |
To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable (74:14) |
وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا |
made their couch |
مَهَّدَ-يُمَهِّدُ (تَمْهِيدٌ) |
those who work righteousness will spread their couch (of repose) for themselves (in heaven): (30:44) |
فَلِأَنفُسِهِمْ يَمْهَدُونَ |
spread their couch, |
مَهَدَ-يَمْهَدُ |
And We have spread out the (spacious) earth (51:48) |
وَالْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ |
spread out |
مَاهِدٌ ج مَاهِدُونَ |
Thou wouldst have seen the sun, when it rose, declining to the right from their Cave (18:17) |
وَتَرَى الشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَاوَرُ عَن كَهْفِهِمْ ذَاتَ الْيَمِينِ |
rose, declining |
تَزَاوَرَ-يَتَزَاوَرُ |
and when it set, turning away from them to the left (18:17) |
وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقْرِضُهُمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ |
declining, left |
قَرَضَ-يَقْرِضُ |
while they lay in the open space (18:17) |
وَهُمْ فِي فَجْوَةٍ مِّنْهُ |
open space |
فَجْوَةٌ |
But when it descends into the open space before them (37:177) |
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ |
open space |
سَاحَةٌ |
their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold (18:17) |
وَكَلْبُهُم بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِالْوَصِيدِ |

ذِرَاعٌ |
threshold |
وَصِيدٌ |
||
if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them. (18:17) |
لَوِ اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِرَارًا |
turned back |
فِرَارٌ (فَرَّ-يَفِرُّ) |
Yet, when they felt Our Punishment (coming), behold, they (tried to) flee from it (21:12) |
فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ |
to flee |
رَكَضَ-يَرْكُضُ |
When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden (37:140) |
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ |
ran away |
أَبَقَ-يَأْبقُ/يَأْبُقُ |
nor can we frustrate Him by flight (72:12) |
وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُ هَرَبًا |
flight |
هَرَبٌ |
In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! (38:3) |
فَنَادَوا وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ |
being saved |
مَنَاصٌ |
but then there will be no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a position (quite) near. (34:51) |
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ فَزِعُوا فَلَا فَوْتَ |
escape |
فَوْتٌ |
As if they were affrighted asses (74:50) |
كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ |
affrighted |
مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ |
And let him behave with care and courtesy, and let him not inform any one about you. (18:19) |
وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ وَلَا يُشْعِرَنَّ بِكُمْ أَحَدًا |
with care and courtesy |
تَلَطَّفَ-يَتَلَطَّفُ |
He therefore got away therefrom, looking about, in a state of fear (28:21) |
فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ |
looking about |
تَرَقَّبَ-يَتَرَقَّبُ |
those of you who slip away under shelter of some excuse (24:63) |
يَتَسَلَّلُونَ مِنكُمْ لِوَاذًا |
slip away |
لِوَاذٌ |
Fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent (18:29) |
نَارًا أَحَاطَ بِهِمْ سُرَادِقُهَا |
walls and roof |
سُرَادِق |
Companions restrained (as to their glances), in (goodly) pavilions (55:72) |
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ |
Pavilions, tent |
خَيْمٌ ج خِيَامٌ |
if they implore relief they will be granted water like melted brass (18:29) |
يُغَاثُوا بِمَاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ |
melted brass |
مُهْلٌ |
they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold (18:31) |
يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ |
bracelets |
سِوَارٌ ج أَسَاوِرُ |
Then why are not gold bracelets bestowed on him (43:53) |
فَلَوْلَا أُلْقِيَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌ مِّن ذَهَبٍ |
bracelets, |
سُوَارٌ ج أَسْوِرَةٌ |
and they will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade (18:31) |
وَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا خُضْرًا مِّن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ |
silk |
سُنْدُسٌ |
their garments there will be of silk (35:33) |
وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ |
silk |
حَرِيرٌ |
They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade (55:54) |
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ |
rich brocade |
اِسْتَبَرَقٌ |
He said, "I deem not that this will ever perish (18:35) |
قَالَ مَا أَظُنُّ أَن تَبِيدَ هَـٰذِهِ أَبَدًا |
perish |
بَادَ-يَبِيدُ |
the plotting of such will be void (35:10) |
وَمَكْرُ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُوَ يَبُورُ |
void |
بَارَ-يَبُورُ |
Therefore let not such as believe not therein but follow their own lusts, divert thee therefrom, lest thou perish (20:16) |
فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ |

رَدِيَ-يَرْدَى |
Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). (92:11) |
وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ |
falls headlong |
تَرَدَّى-يَتَرَدَّى |
Or the water of the garden will run off underground (18:41) |
يُصْبِحَ مَاؤُهَا غَوْرًا |

غَوْرٌ |
they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? (54:44) |
يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ |
defend |
مُنْتَصِرٌ ج مُنْتَصِرُونَ |
But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them (42:41) |
وَلَمَنِ انتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِ |
defend |
انْتَصَرَ-يَنْتَصِرُ |
which the winds do scatter (18:45) |
تَذْرُوهُ الرِّيَاحُ |
scatter |
ذَرَا-يَذْرُو (ذَرْوٌ) |
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast (51:1) |
|

ذَارِيذةٌ ج ذَارِيَاتٌ |
and thou wilt see the earth as a level stretch (18:47) |
وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ بَارِزَةً وَحَشَرْنَاهُمْ |
level stretch |
بَارِزَةٌ |
But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness (37:145) |
فَنَبَذْنَاهُ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ |
naked shore |
عَرَاءٌ |
And they will be marshalled before thy Lord in ranks (18:48) |
وَعُرِضُوا عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ صَفًّا |
in ranks |
صَفٌّ |
By those who range themselves in ranks (37:1) |
وَالصَّافَّاتِ صَفًّا |
in ranks |
صَافَّةٌ ج صَافَّاتٌ، صَوَافٌّ |
And cushions set in rows (88:15) |
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ |
cushions |
مَصْفُوفَةٌ |
and We shall make for them a place of common perdition (18:52) |
وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّوْبِقًا |
perdition |
مَوْبِقٌ |
And the Sinful shall see the fire and apprehend that they have to fall therein (18:53) |
فَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُم مُّوَاقِعُوهَا |
to fall |
مُوَاقِعٌ ج مُوَاقِعُونَ |
no means will they find to turn away therefrom. (18:53) |
وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا |
turn away |
مَصْرِفٌ |
But Allah was to bring forth what ye did hide. (2:72) |
وَاللَّـهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ |
bring forth |
مَخْرَجٌ |
they disputed by falsehood to invalidate thereby the truth (40:5) |
وَجَادَلُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا بِهِ الْحَقَّ |
invalidate |
أَدْحَضَ-يُدْحِضُ |
said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal... (18:62) |
قَالَ لِفَتَاهُ آتِنَا غَدَاءَنَا |
early meal |
غَدَاءٌ |
Truly a strange thing hast thou done! (18:71) |
لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْئًا إِمْرًا |
strange |
إمْرٌ |
Truly a foul (unheard of) thing hast thou done! (18:74) |
لَّقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْئًا نُّكْرًا |
foul |
نُكْرٌ |
O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented (19:27) |
يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا |
unprecedented |
فَرِيٌّ |
You have done an atrocious thing. (19:89) |
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئًا إِدًّا |
atrocious thing |
إدٌّ |
nor grieve me by raising difficulties in my case (18:73) |
وَلَا تُرْهِقْنِي مِنْ أَمْرِي عُسْرًا |
difficulties |
أَرْهَقَ |
keep me not in thy company (18:76) |
فَلَا تُصَاحِبْنِي |
company |
صَاحَبَ-يُصَاحِبُ |
They found there a wall (18:77) |
فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًا |
wall |
جِدَارٌ ج جُدُرٌ |
And a wall will be placed between them (57:13) |
فَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُم بِسُورٍ |
a barrier |
سُورٌ |
erect a barrier between us and them? (18:94) |
تَجْعَلَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ سَدًّا |
a barrier |
سَدٌّ |
I will erect a strong barrier between you and them (18:95) |
أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا |
strong barrier |
رَدْمٌ |
I but wished to render it unserviceable (18:79) |
فَأَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَعِيبَهَا |
unserviceable |
عَابَ-يَعِيبُ |
when he came to the rising of the sun (18:90) |
إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطْلِعَ الشَّمْسِ |
Place of rising of the sun |
مَطْلِعٌ |
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn (97;5) |
سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ |

مَطْلَعٌ |
when he had filled up the space between the two steep mountain (18:96) |
إِذَا سَاوَىٰ بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ |
filled up |
سَاوَى-يُسَاوِي |
I may pour over it, molten lead (18:96) |
أُفْرِغْ عَلَيْهِ قِطْرًا |
molten lead |
قِطْرٌ |
Thus were they made powerless to scale it or to dig through it (18:97) |
وَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا لَهُ نَقْبًا |
to scale, to dig |
نَقْبٌ |
If the ocean were ink (18:109) |
لَّوْ كَانَ الْبَحْرُ مِدَادًا |
ink |
مِدَادٌ |
I have reached extreme old age (19:8) |
بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا |
extreme |
عِتِيٌّ |
and shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree (19:25) |
وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ |
the trunk |
جِذْعٌ ج جُذُوعٌ |
fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees (69:7) |
كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ |
were hollow trunks |
عَجُزٌ ج أَعْجَازٌ |
and shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree (19:25) |
وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ |
shake |
هَزَّ-يَهُزُّ |
Move not your tongue with it (75:16) |
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ |
Move |
حَرَّكَ-يُحَرِّكُ |
But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake (28:31) |
فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ |
Move .writhing |
اِهْتَزَّ-يَهْتِزُّ |
So eat and drink and be contented. (19:26) |
فَكُلِي وَاشْرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيْنًا |
contented |
قَرَّ-يَقَرُّ |
[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you (28:9) |
قُرَّتُ عَيْنٍ لِّي وَلَكَ |
comfort |
قُرَّةٌ |
nd therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes (43:71) |
وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ الْأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ الْأَعْيُنُ |
delight |
لَذَّ-يَلَذُّ |
Indeed, His promise has ever been coming (19:61) |
إِنَّهُ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيًّا |
been coming |
مَأْتِيٌّ |
his is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed (19:71) |
كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا |
inevitability |
حَتْمٌ |
your denial is going to be adherent. (25:77) |
فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًا |
Mandatory ,adherent |
لِزَامٌ |
and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees (19:72) |
وَّنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا |
knees |
جَاثٍ (جَاثِيَةٌ) جِثِيٌّ |
Which of [our] two parties is best in position and best in association? (19:73) |
أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا |
association |
نَدِيٌّ |
when you are told, "Space yourselves" in assemblies, then make space (58:11) |
إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا فِي الْمَجَالِسِ فَافْسَحُوا |
assemblies |
مَجْلِسٌ ج مَجَالِسُ |
And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son (19:92) |
وَمَا يَنبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا |
not appropriate |
اِنْبَغَى-يَنْبَغِي |
An appropriate recompense. (78:26) |
جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا |
appropriate |
وِفَاقٌ |
o Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. (20;6) |
لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ الثَّرَىٰ |
under the soil. |
ثَرًى |
Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light (57:13) |
اُنظُرُونَا نَقْتَبِسْ مِن نُّورِكُمْ |
Finding the source of fire, light |
اقْتَبَسَ-يَقْتَبِسُ |
so remove your sandals (20:12) |
فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ |
sandals |
نَعْلٌ |
It is my staff; I lean upon it (20:18) |
أَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْهَا |
lean upon |
تَوَكَّأَ-يَتَوَكَّأُ |
nd I bring down leaves for my sheep (20:18) |
وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَىٰ غَنَمِي |
bring down leaves |
هَشَّ-يَهُشُّ |
and I have therein other uses (20:18) |
وَلِيَ فِيهَا مَآرِبُ أُخْرَىٰ |
other uses |
مَآرِبُ |
And draw in your hand to your side (20:22) |
وَاضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ |
Draw- to your side |
ضَمَّ-يَضُمُّ |
Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him? (20:40) |
هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُ |
direct |
دَلَّ-يَدُلُّ |
indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us (20:45) |
إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَا |
hasten [punishment] |
فَرَطَ-يَفْرُطُ |
And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes]. (20:66) |
يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ مِن سِحْرِهِمْ أَنَّهَا تَسْعَىٰ |
seemed to |
خَيَّلَ-يُخَيِّلُ |
Then, was the time [of its fulfillment] too long for you (20:86) |
أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَهْدُ |
too long |
طَالَ-يَطُولُ |
and prolonged was their duration (28:45) |
فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ |
prolonged |
تَطَاوَلَ-يَتَطَاوَلُ |
and prolonged was their duration (28:45) |
فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ |
prolonged |
طَوِيلٌ |
but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication. (41:51) |
وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاءٍ عَرِيضٍ |
extensive |
عَرِيضٌ |
indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun. (20:119) |
وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظْمَأُ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضْحَىٰ |
be hot from the sun |
ضَحِيَ-يَضْحَى |
do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head (20:94) |
لَا تَأْخُذْ بِلِحْيَتِي |
beard |
لِحْيَةٌ |
We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. (20:97) |
لَنَنسِفَنَّهُ فِي الْيَمِّ نَسْفًا |
Dust |
نَسْفٌ |
and make them as dust dispersed. (25:23) |
فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَاءً مَّنثُورًا |
dust |
هَبَاءٌ |
And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. (80:40) |
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ |
dust |
غَبَرَةٌ |
Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust, (100:4) |
فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا |
[clouds of] dust |
نَقْعٌ |
Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed. (20:118) |
إِنَّ لَكَ أَلَّا تَجُوعَ فِيهَا وَلَا تَعْرَىٰ |
unclothed |
عَرِيَ-يَعْرَى |
And We made the sky a protected ceiling (21:32) |
وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا |
protected |
مَحْفُوظٌ |
within fortified cities or from behind walls (59:14) |
فِي قُرًى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ |
fortified |
مُحَصَّنَةٌ |
Fair ones reserved in pavilions (55:72) |
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ |
pavilions |
مَقْصُورَةٌ ج مَقْصُورَاتٌ |
The likenesses of pearls well-protected (56:23) |
كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ |
well-protected |
مَكْنُونٌ |
but each, in an orbit, is swimming (36:40) |
وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ |
Swimming , orbiting |
سَبَحَ-يَسْبَحُ (سَبْحٌ) |
And [by] those who glide [as if] swimmin (79:3) |
وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا |
glide [as if] swimmin |
سَابِحَةٌ ج سَابِحَاتٌ |
And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them (21:46) |
وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ |
Whiff |
نَفْحَةٌ |
And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed (21:47) |
وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ |
a mustard seed |
خَرْدَلَةٌ ج خَرْدَلٌ |
And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor (21:80) |
وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ |
armor |
لَبُوسٌ |
Make full coats of mail (34:11) |
اِعْمَلْ سَابِغَاتٍ |
coats of mail |
سَابِغَةٌ ج سَابِغَاتٌ |
And of the devils were those who dived for him (21:82) |
وَمِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُ |
dived |
غَاصَ-يَغُوصُ |
And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver (38:37) |
وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ |
diver |
غَوَّاصٌ |
And they who guard their private parts (23:5) |
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ |
private parts |
فَرْجٌ ج فُرُوجٌ |
who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women (24:31) |
لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَىٰ عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَاءِ |
private aspects |
عَوْرَةٌ ج عَوْرَاتٌ |
they are from it far removed (21:101) |
أُولَـٰئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ |
far removed |
مُبْعَدٌ ج مُبْعَدُونَ |
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. (26:212) |
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ |
removed |
مَعْزُولٌ ج مَعْزُولُونَ |
The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records (21:104) |
يَوْمَ نَطْوِي السَّمَاءَ كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ |
folding of a [written] sheet |
طَوَى-يَطْوِي (طَيٌّ) |
and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. (39:67) |
وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ |
folded |
مَطْوِيَّةٌ ج مَطْوِيَّاتٌ |
and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh] (23:14) |
فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً |
lump [of flesh] |
مُضْغَةٌ |
By which is melted that within their bellies and [their] skins (22:20) |
يُصْهَرُ بِهِ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِمْ |
melted |
صَهرَ |
And for [striking] them are maces of iron. (22:21) |
وَلَهُم مَّقَامِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ |
maces of iron. |
مِقْمَعَةٌ ج مَقَامِعُ |
Then let them end their untidiness (22:29) |
ثُمَّ لْيَقْضُوا تَفَثَهُمْ |
untidiness |
تَفَثٌ |
and perform Tawaf around the ancient House (22:29) |
وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ |

عَتِيقٌ |
And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him., (22:73) |
وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْئًا لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ |

اِسْتَنْقَذَ |
And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay (23:12) |
خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ |

Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot (23:14) |
ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً |
a clinging clot |
عَلَقٌ، عَلَقَةٌ |
which produces oil (23:20) |
تَنبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ |
oil |
دُهْنٌ |
lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree (24:35) |
يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ |
the oil of] a blessed olive tree |
زَيْتٌ |
So leave them in their confusion for a time (23:54) |
فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ |
confusion |
غَمْرَةٌ |
In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night (23:67) |
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا |
conversing by night |
سَامِرٌ |
they would persist in their transgression, (23:75) |
لَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ |
persist in |
لَجَّ |
Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses (55:20) |
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ |
a barrier |
بَرْزَخٌ |
and they therein will have taut smiles. (23:104) |
وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ |
taut smiles |
كَالِحٌ ج كَالِحُونَ |
He will say, "Remain despised therein (23:108) |
قَالَ اخْسَئُوا فِيهَا |
despised |
خَسِئَ-يَخْسَأُ |
The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man found guilty of sexual intercourse - lash each one of them with a hundred lashes (24:2) |
فَاجْلِدُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا مِائَةَ جَلْدَةٍ |
lashes |
جَلَدَ-يَجْلِدُ (جَلْدَةٌ) |
So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. (89:13) |
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ |
scourge |
سَوْطٌ |
Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread [or publicized] among those who have believed (24:19) |
يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا |
spread [or publicized] |
شَاعَ-يَشِيعُ |
a Day whose evil will be widespread. (76:7) |
ويَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا |
widespread |
مُستَطِيرٌ |
houses not inhabited (24:29) |
بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُونَةٍ |
inhabited |
مَسْكُونَةٌ |
those male attendants having no physical desire (24:31) |
التَّابِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ |
physical desire |
إرْبَةٌ |
to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests (24:31) |
وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ |
headcovers |
خُمْرٌ |
to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests (24:31) |
وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ |
Bosom |
جَيْبٌ ج جُيُوبٌ |
And marry the unmarried among you (24:32) |
وَأَنكِحُوا الْأَيَامَىٰ مِنكُمْ |
unmarried |
أَيِّمٌ ج أَيَامَى |
he example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp (24:35) |
مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ |
lamp |
مِصْبَاحٌ ج مَصَابِيحُ |
and made the sun a burning lamp (24:35) |
وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا |
lamp |
سِرَاجٌ |
the lamp is within glass, the glass (71:16) |
الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ |
glass |
زُجَاجَةٌ |
their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water (24:39) |
أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍ بِقِيعَةٍ يَحْسَبُهُ الظَّمْآنُ مَاءً |
mirage |
سَرَابٌ |
|
|
lowland |
قِيعَةٌ |
Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea (24:40) |
أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُّجِّيٍّ |
deep |
لُجِّيٌّ |
The flash of its lightening almost takes away the eyesight (24:43) |
يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِ يَذْهَبُ بِالْأَبْصَارِ |
The flash |
سَنَا |
when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon (24:58) |
وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُم مِّنَ الظَّهِيرَةِ |
at noon |
ظَهِيرَةٌ |
putting aside their outer garments [but] not displaying adornment (24:60) |
يَضَعْنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيْرَ مُتَبَرِّجَاتٍ بِزِينَةٍ |
displaying adornment |
مُتَبَرِّجَةٌ ج مُتَبَرِّجَاتٌ |
And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. (33:33) |
وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَىٰ |
display |
تَبَرَّجَ-يَتَبَرَّجُ (تَبَرُّجٌ) |
nor upon the lame constraint (24:61) |
وَلَا عَلَى الْأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ |
the lame |
أَعْرَجُ |
and walks in the markets? (25:7) |
وَيَمْشِي فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ |
markets |
سُوْقٌ ج أَسْوَاقٌ |
better resting place. (25:24) |
أَحْسَنُ مَقِيلًا |
resting place |
مَقِيلٌ |
I wish I had not taken that one as a friend (25:28) |
يَا وَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًا |
that one |
فُلَانٌ |
Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once (25:32) |
لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الْقُرْآنُ جُمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً |
all at once |
جُمْلَةٌ |
He could have made it stationary (25:45) |
وَلَوْ شَاءَ لَجَعَلَهُ سَاكِنًا |
stationary |
سَاكِنٌ |
they would remain motionless on its surface (42:33) |
فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِ |
motionless, |
رَاكِدَةٌ ج رَوَاكِدُ |
And leave the sea in stillnes (44:24) |
وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا |
stillnes |
رَهْوٌ |
And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid (27:88) |
وَتَرَى الْجِبَالَ تَحْسَبُهَا جَامِدَةً |
rigid |
جَامِدَةٌ |
Then We made the sun for it an indication. (25:45) |
جَعَلْنَا الشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا |
indication |
دَلِيلٌ |
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer] (25:64) |
وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا |
spend [part of] the night |
بَاتَ-يَبِيتُ |
its punishment is ever adhering; (25:65) |
إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا |
adhering |
غَرَامٌ |
What would my Lord care for you (25:77) |
مَا يَعْبَأُ بِكُمْ رَبِّي |
