O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you 2:40

يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ

child, descendant

اِبْنٌ ج أَبْنَاءٌ، بَنُونٌ

And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins 7:172

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِن بَنِي آدَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ

descendant

, offspring, Future generation

ذُرِّيَّةٌ ج ذُرِّيَّاتٌ

Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained. 32:8

ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ

Posterity, offspring, descendant  

نَسْلٌ

And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandchildren 16:72

وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً

Grandson, grand daughter

, servant

حَافِدٌ ج حَفَدَةٌ

And he has not made your adopted sons your [true] sons. 33:4

وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدْعِيَاءَكُمْ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ

adopted sons

دَعِيٌ ج أَدْعِيَاءُ

He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, 28:27

قَالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ

daughters

ابْنَةٌ ج بَنَاتٌ

and your step-daughters under your guardianship [born] of your wives unto whom you have gone in. 4:23

وَرَبَائِبُكُمُ اللَّاتِي فِي حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَائِكُمُ اللَّاتِي دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ

step-daughters, Wife's daughter

رَبِيبَةٌ ج رَبَائِبُ

They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac 2:133

قَالُوا نَعْبُدُ إِلَٰهَكَ وَإِلَٰهَ آبَائِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ

Father, uncle, grand-father, Ancestor

أَبٌ ج آبَاءٌ

O Children of Israel, remember My favor that I have bestowed upon you (2:47)

يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ

Remember, describe, mention

ذَكَرَ- يَذْكُرُ (ذِكْرٌ،ذِكرَى، تَذْكِرَةٌ)

The Day when man will remember that for which he strove 79:35

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ

Remember, take advice,   

تَذَكَّرَ-يَتَذَكَّرُ (يَذَّكَّرُ)

But the one who was freed and remembered after a time 12:45

وَقَالَ الَّذِي نَجَا مِنْهُمَا وَادَّكَرَ بَعْدَ أُمَّةٍ

remember

اِدَّكَرَ-يَدَّكِرُ

if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allah has become burdensome upon you - then I have relied upon Allah . 10:71

إِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكُم مَّقَامِي وَتَذْكِيرِي بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَعَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ

Take advice,  reminded

ذَكَّرَ-يُذَكِّرُ (تَذْكِيرٌ)

That is a reminder for those who remember. (11:114)

ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ

Reminder, reminiscent

ذَاكِرٌ ج ذَاكِرُونَ (ذَاكِرَاتٌ)

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 88:21

فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ

Reminder, Uncredited  

مُذَكِّرٌ

And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember? 54:15

وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

remindful, Thinkers

مُدَّكِرٌ

Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 76:1

هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ حِينٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْئًا مَّذْكُورًا

mentioned, Note

مَذْكُورٌ

But when they reached the junction between them, they forgot their fish 18:61

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَا مَجْمَعَ بَيْنِهِمَا نَسِيَا حُوتَهُمَا

forgot

نَسِيَ-يَنْسَى

On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing 22:2

يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ

Distracted, To be forgotten

ذَهَلَ-يَذْهَلُ

And be not like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient. 59:19

وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ نَسُوا اللَّهَ فَأَنسَاهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ

Delude, forget,

To be forgotten

أَنْسَى-يُنْسِي

She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten." 19:23

قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا

forgotten, amnesiac

نَسْيٌ

And never is your Lord forgetful 19:64

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا

Forgetful, oblivious

نَسِيٌّ

She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten." 19:23

قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا

forgotten, amnesiac

مَنْسِيٌّ

fulfill My covenant [upon you] (2:40)

وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ

Fulfill, occupant

أَوْفَى-يُوفِي (مُوفٍ ج مُوفُونَ)

And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] 53:37

وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِي وَفَّىٰ

fulfilled

وَفَّى-يُوَفِّي (مُوَفٍّ ج مُوَفُّونَ)

so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended] 9:4

فَأَتِمُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ

To conclude

, complete

أَتَمَّ-يُتِمُّ

This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you 5:3

الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي

Complete, fill up

أَكْمَلَ- يُكْمِلُ

And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. 6:115

وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًا وَعَدْلًا

Fulfilled, complete, Fullness,  finished

تَمَّ- يَتِمُّ

Then We gave Moses the Scripture, making complete [Our favor] upon the one who did good 6:154

ثُمَّ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ تَمَامًا عَلَى الَّذِي أَحْسَنَ

Filler, occupant, the one who completes

مُتِمٌ

And do not exchange My signs for a small price (2:41)

وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا

Small price, worth, low value,  Market price

ثَمَنٌ

And do not mix the truth with falsehood (2:42)

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ

Mix, mingle

لَبَسَ- يَلْبِسُ

And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. 9:102

وَآخَرُونَ اعْتَرَفُوا بِذُنُوبِهِمْ خَلَطُوا عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَآخَرَ سَيِّئًا عَسَى

mix

خَلَطَ- يَخْلِطُ

And if you mix your affairs with theirs - they are your brothers. 2:220

وَإِن تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ

To be in harmony, Mix up, To be united

خَالَطَ- يُخَالِطُ

and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it 18:45

فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الْأَرْضِ فَأَصْبَحَ هَشِيمًا

Mingle, Combination, Mix, Combine   

اِخْتَلَطَ- يَخْتَلِطُ

And establish prayer and give zakah 2:43

وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ

donate , give,

آتَى-يُؤْتِي (إِيْتَاءٌ)

Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar. 108:1

إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ

Grant, give, confer

أَعْطَى- يُعْطِي

He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy. 19:19

قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا

Give, deliver, bestow, offer, dedicate

وَهَبَ-يَهَبُ

So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord 18:110

فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ

meeting , Meet up, proclaim, Educate

لَقَّى-يُلَقِّي

if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly 49:9

فَإِن فَاءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوا

return, restitution

أَفَاءَ- يُفِيءُ

Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful." 27:64

قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

reveal , Produce, disclose, bring forth

هَاتِ

Zakah, sanctity, purity

زَكَاةٌ

Bent in respect, bent for worship, bent down

رَكَعَ-يَرْكَعُ

And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence 20:111

وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ

Humble, chapfallen, depressed

عَنَا- يَعْنُو

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy 17:24

وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ

To be kind,  humble

خَفَضَ- يَخْفِضُ

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision 24:31

قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ

Humble, depressed, Mumbling

غَضَّ-يَغُضُّ

And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand? 36:68

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ

reverse

نَكَسَ

Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allah, 16:68

يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلَالُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَائِلِ سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ

Return, regress, shadows incline to

تَفَيَّأَ-يَتَفَيَّأُ

and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience]. 2:43

وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ

bent for worship

رَاكِعٌ ج رَاكِعُونَ،رُكَّعٌ

for which their necks would remain humbled 26:4

فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خَاضِعِينَ

Humbled, chapfallen, depressed, meek, God fearful   

خَاضِعٌ ج خَاضِعُونَ

If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord 32:12

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذِ الْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُو رُءُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ

Knees down

, Downward, hanging their heads

نَاكِسٌ ج نَاكِسُونَ

while you recite the Scripture? 2:44

وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ

recite , pronounce , Read, study

تَلاَ- يَتْلُو (تِلاَوَةٌ)

Recite in the name of your Lord who created 96:1

اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ

recite , pronounce , Read, study

قَرَأَ-يَقْرَأُ (قُرْآنٌ)

Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. 73:4

أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا

recite , Read, study

رَتَّلَ-يُرَتِّلُ (تَرْتِيلٌ)

And those who recite the message, 37:3

فَالتَّالِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا

recite, those who recite

تَالِيَةٌ ج تَالِيَاتٌ

We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 87:6

سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰ

teach, To teach

أَقْرَأَ-يُقْرِئُ
