No person is charged with more than his capacity. (2:233) |
لَا تُكَلَّفُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا |

تَكَلَّفَ-يَتَكَلَّفُ |
Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. (2:286) |
رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا |

حَمَّلَ-يُحَمِّلُ |
No person is charged with more than his capacity. (2:233) |
لَا تُكَلَّفُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا |

وُسْعٌ |
They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. (22:74) |
مَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ |

قَدْرٌ |
Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means. (65:6) |
أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنتُم مِّن وُجْدِكُمْ |

وُجْدٌ |
Those are the inheritors (23:10) |
أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْوَارِثُونَ |
Inheritor |
وَارِثٌ (ج) وَارِثُونَ، وَرَثَةٌ (وَرِثَ-يَرَثُ) |
Then we caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants; (35:32) |
ثُمَّ أَوْرَثْنَا الْكِتَابَ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَيْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا |
inherit |
أَوْرَثَ-يُوْرِثُ |
And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether, (89:19) |
وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا |
inheritance |
تُرَاثٌ |
And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. (3:180) |
وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَاثُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ |
heritage |
مِيرَاثٌ |
And if they both desire weaning through mutual consent from both of them and consultation, there is no blame upon either of them. (2:233) |
فَإِنْ أَرَادَا فِصَالًا عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنْهُمَا وَتَشَاوُرٍ |
consultation |
تَشَاوُرٌ |
established prayer and whose affair is [determined by] consultation among themselves, (42:38) |
وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ |
consultation |
شُورَى |
and consult them in the matter. (3:159) |
وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ |
consult |
شَاوَرَ-يُشَاوِرُ |
and confer among yourselves in the acceptable way; (65:6) |
وَأْتَمِرُوا بَيْنَكُم بِمَعْرُوفٍ |
confer |
ائْتَمَرَ-يَئْتَمِرُ |
there is no blame upon you as long as you give payment according to what is acceptable. (2:233) |
فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذَا سَلَّمْتُم مَّا آتَيْتُم بِالْمَعْرُوفِ |
give payment |
سَلَّمَ-يُسَلِّمُ (تَسْلِيمٌ) |
And He is the Wise, the Acquainted [with all]. (6:18) |
وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ |
the Acquainted [with all] |
خَبِيرٌ |
There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women (2:235) |
وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا عَرَّضْتُم |
[indirectly] allude |
عَرَّضَ-يُعَرِّضُ |
So she pointed to him. (19:29) |
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ |
point |
أَشَارَ-يُشِيرُ |
"Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. (3:41) |
قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا |

There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women (2:235) |
وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا عَرَّضْتُم بِهِ مِنْ خِطْبَةِ النِّسَاءِ |
Marriage proposal |
خِطْبَةٌ |
or the one in whose hand is the marriage contract foregoes it. (2:237) |
أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ |
contract |
عُقْدَةٌ (ج) عُقَدٌ |
when they no longer have need of them. (33:37) |
إِذَا قَضَوْا مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًا |
need |
وَطَرٌ |
And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving women, (60:10) |
وَلَا تُمْسِكُوا بِعِصَمِ الْكَوَافِرِ |
bond |
عِصْمَةٌ (ج) عِصَمٌ |
give them their due compensation as an obligation. (4:24) |
فَآتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً |
compensation |
فَرِيضَةٌ |
And give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously. (4:4) |
وَآتُوا النِّسَاءَ صَدُقَاتِهِنَّ نِحْلَةً |
[bridal] gifts |
صَدُقَةٌ (ج) صَدُقَاتٌ |
And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding. (2:239) |
فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ فَرِجَالًا أَوْ رُكْبَانًا |
[an enemy] on foot or riding |
رُكْبَانٌ |
they will come to you on foot; (22:27) |
يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا |
come on foot |
رَاجِلٌ (ج) رِجَالٌ |
and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers (17:64) |
وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ |

رَجِلٌ |
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan? (57:11) |
يُقْرِضُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا |

قَرَضَ-يَقْرِضُ |
when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. (2:282) |
إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُ |
contract a debt |
تَدَايَنَ-يَتَدَايَنُ |
and loan Allah a goodly loan. (73:20) |
وَأَقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا |

قَرْضٌ |
after any bequest he [may have] made or debt. (4:11) |
مِن بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصِي بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍ |

دَيْنٌ |
And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned. (2:245) |
وَاللَّهُ يَقْبِضُ وَيَبْسُطُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ |
withhold |
قَبَضَ-يَقْبِضُ (قَبْضٌ) |
do not harm them in order to oppress them. (65:6) |
وَلَا تُضَارُّوهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ |
oppress |
ضَيَّقَ-يُضَيِّقُ |
and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. (2:247) |
وَزَادَهُ بَسْطَةً فِي الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِ |
stature |
جِسْمٌ ج أَجْسَامٌ |
So today We will save you in body. (10:92) |
فَالْيَوْمَ نُنَجِّيكَ بِبَدَنِكَ |
body |
بَدَنٌ |
And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. (21:8) |
وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ |
form |
جَسَدٌ |
[Saying], 'Cast him into the chest (20:39)
|
أَنِ اقْذِفِيهِ فِي التَّابُوتِ |
chest |
تَابُوت |
Indeed, a sign of his kingship is that the chest will come to you in which is assurance from your Lord (2:248) |
إِنَّ آيَةَ مُلْكِهِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ التَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ |

سَكِينَةٌ |
and a remnant of what the family of Moses and the family of Aaron had left. (2:248) |
وَبَقِيَّةٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ آلُ مُوسَىٰ وَآلُ هَارُونَ |
remnant |
بَقِيَّةٌ |
Then do you see of them any remains? (69:8) |
فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّن بَاقِيَةٍ |
remaining |
بَاقٍ (بَاقِيَةٌ) ج بَاقُونَ (بَاقِيَاتٌ) |
give up what remains [due to you] of interest, (2:278) |
وَذَرُوا مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الرِّبَا |
remains [due to you] |
بَقِيَ-يَبْقَى |
It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], (74:28) |
لَا تُبْقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ |
remain |
أَبْقَى-يُبْقِي |
Those [angels] who carry the Throne and those around it exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord. (40:7)
|
الَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ الْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ |
carry |
حَمَلَ-يَحْمِلُ |
and the torrent carries a rising foam. (13:17) |
فَاحْتَمَلَ السَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا |
carry |
احْتَمَلَ-يَحْتَمِلُ |
That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. (53:38) |
أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ |
bear |
وَزَرَ-يَزِرُ |
when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land (7:57) |
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَاهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ |
carry |
أَقَلَّ-يُقِلُّ |
Indeed in that are signs, and indeed, We are ever testing [Our servants]. (23:30) |
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ |
We are ever testing |
مُبْتَلٍ ج مُبْتَلُونَ |
excepting one who takes [from it] in the hollow of his hand." (2:249) |
إِلَّا مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةً بِيَدِهِ |
hollow of hand |
اِغْتَرَفَ-يَغْتَرِفُ |
excepting one who takes [from it] in the hollow of his hand." (2:249) |
إِلَّا مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةً بِيَدِهِ |
hollow |
غُرْفَةٌ |
How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah. (2:249) |
كَم مِّن فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةً بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ |
overcome |
غَلَبَ-يَغْلِبُ (غَلَبٌ) |
So they defeated them by permission of Allah, (2:251) |
فَهَزَمُوهُم بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ |
defeat |
هَزَمَ-يَهْزُمُ |
when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, (47:4) |
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ |
slaughter |
أَثْخَنَ-يُثْخِنُ |
after He caused you to overcome them. (48::24) |
بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ |
overcome |
أَظْفَرَ-يُظْفِرُ |
And he has succeeded today who overcomes. (20:64) |
وَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْيَوْمَ مَنِ اسْتَعْلَىٰ |
overcome |
اسْتَعْلَى-يَسْتَعْلِي |
plant firmly our feet. (2:250) |
ثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا |
plant firmly |
ثَبَّتَ-يُثَبِّتُ (تَثْبِيتٌ) |
And We made firm their hearts (18:14) |
وَرَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ |
make firm |
رَبَطَ-يَرْبِطُ |
those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course. (46:13) |
قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا |
remain on a right course |
اِسْتَقَامَ-يَسْتَقِيمُ |
And if it were not for Allah checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, (2:251) |
وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّفَسَدَتِ الْأَرْضُ |

دَفْعٌ |
To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer. (70:2) |
لِّلْكَافِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَافِعٌ |
preventer |
دَافِعٌ |
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. (2:255) |
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ |
the Sustainer of [all] existence |
قَيُّومٌ |
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. (2:255) |
لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ |
drowsiness |
سِنَةٌ |
[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him (8:11) |
إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ النُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ |
drowsiness |
نُعَاسٌ |
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. (2:255) |
لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ |
sleep |
نَومٌ |
while they were asleep. (68:19) |
هُمْ نَائِمُونَ |
asleep |
نَائِمٌ ج نَائِمُونَ |
And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. (18:18) |
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقَاظًا وَهُمْ رُقُودٌ |
asleep |
رَاقِدٌ ج رُقُودٌ |
and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. (7:4) |
فَجَاءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَائِلُونَ |
sleeping at noon |
قَائِلٌ |
They used to sleep but little of the night, (51:17) |
كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ |
sleep |
هَجَعَ-يَهْجَعُ |
And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. (18:18) |
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقَاظًا وَهُمْ رُقُودٌ |
awake |
أَيْقَاظٌ |
and their preservation tires Him not. (2:255) |
وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا |
tire |
آدَ-يَؤُودُ |
Indeed, He is Most High and Wise. (42:51) |
إِنَّهُ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ |
Most High |
عَلِيٌّ، عَالٍ |
[He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted. (13:9) |
عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِيرُ الْمُتَعَالِ |
the Exalted |
مُتْعَالٍ |
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. (56:3) |
خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ |
raise up |
رَافِعٌ |
they will be among the lowest. (41:29) |
لِيَكُونَا مِنَ الْأَسْفَلِينَ |
lowest |
سَافِلٌ ج سَافِلُونَ |
And we do not see you followed except by those who are the lowest of us [and] at first suggestion. (11:27) |
وَمَا نَرَاكَ اتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ الرَّأْيِ |

أَرْذَل ج أَرْذَلُونَ، أَرَاذِلُ |
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. (56:3) |
خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ |
bringing down |
خَافِضَةٌ |
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. (2:256) |
لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ |
compulsion |
إكْرَاهٌ |
a king who seized every [good] ship by force. (18:79) |
يَأْخُذُ كُلَّ سَفِينَةٍ غَصْبًا |
by force |
غَصَبٌ |
(he) has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. (2:256) |
فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىٰ |
grasp |
اسْتَمْسَكَ-يَسْتَمْسِكُ |
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together (3:103) |
وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا |
hold firmly |
اعْتَصَمَ-يَعْتَصِمُ |
But those who hold fast to the Book. (7:170) |
وَالَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ |
hold |
مَسَّكَ-يُمَسِّكُ |
Or have We given them a book before the Qur'an to which they are adhering? (43:21) |
أَمْ آتَيْنَاهُمْ كِتَابًا مِّن قَبْلِهِ فَهُم بِهِ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ |
adhering |
مُسْتَمْسِكٌ ج مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ |
(he) has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. (2:256) |
فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىٰ |
handhold |
عُرْوَةٌ |
(he) has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. (2:256) |
فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىٰ |
trustworthy |
وُثْقَى |
Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. (14:27) |
يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ |
firm |
ثَابِتٌ |
Indeed, my plan is firm. (7:183) |
إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ |
firm |
مَتِينٌ |
But those firm in knowledge among them and the believers believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], (4:162) |
لَّٰكِنِ الرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ |
firm in knowledge |
رَاسِخٌ ج رَاسِخُونَ |
with no break in it. (2:256) |
لَا انفِصَامَ لَهَا |
break |
انْفِصَامٌ |
So the disbeliever was overwhelmed [by astonishment], (2:258) |
فَبُهِتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ |
overwhelmed [by astonishment] |
بَهَتَ-يَبْهَتُ |
And how many a sign within the heavens and earth do they pass over while they, therefrom, are turning away. (12:105) |
يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضُونَ |
pass over |
مَرَّ-يَمُرُّ |
Then when he had crossed it. (2:249) |
فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهُ |
crosss |
جَاوَزَ-يُجَاوِزُ |
And [by] the night when it passes, (89:4) |
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ |
passes |
سَرَى-يَسْرِي |
if you are able to pass beyond the regions (55:33) |
إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُ |
pass beyond |
نَفَذَ-يَنْفُذُ |
so it(town) is [now] fallen into ruin - (22:45) |
فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا |
fall into |
خَاوِيَةٌ |
and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone. (29: 37) |
فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ |
fallen |
جَاثِمٌ ج جَاثِمُونَ |
Has there not reached them the news of those before them - the people of Noah and [the tribes of] 'Aad and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the companions of Madyan and the towns overturned? (9:70) |
أَلَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَقَوْمِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَأَصْحَابِ مَدْيَنَ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتِ |

مُؤْتِفِكَةٌ ج مُؤْتِفِكَاتٌ |
Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. (2:259) |
فَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ |
not changed |
تَسَنَّهَ-يَتَسَنَّهُ |
And look at your donkey; (2:259) |
وَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ |
donkey |
حِمَارٌ ج حُمُرٌ، حَمِيرٌ |
And look at the bones [of this donkey] (2:259) |
وَانظُرْ إِلَى الْعِظَامِ |
bones |
عَظْمٌ ج عِظَامٌ |
but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." (2:260) |
وَلَٰكِن لِّيَطْمَئِنَّ قَلْبِي |
heart satisfying |
اِطْمَأَنَّ-يَطْمَئِنُّ |
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul, (89:27) |
يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ |
reassured |
مُطْمَئِنٌّ (مُطْمَئِنَّةٌ) |
Take four birds. (2:260) |
فَخُذْ أَرْبَعَةً مِّنَ الطَّيْرِ |
bird |
طَيْرٌ |
or bird that flies with its wings (6:38) |
طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ |
bird |
طَائِرٌ |
and commit them to yourself. (2:260) |
فَصُرْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ |
commit |
صَارَ-يَصُورُ |
Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; (2:260) |
ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ جَبَلٍ |
hill |
جَبَلٌ ج جِبَالٌ |
and each portion was like a great towering mountain. (26:63) |
كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ |
mountain |
طَوْدٌ |
and each portion was like a great towering mountain. (42:32) |
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ الْجَوَارِ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ |
mountain |
عَلَمٌ ج أَعْلَامٌ |
and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains. (31:10) |
وَأَلْقَىٰ فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ |
set mountains |
رَاسٍ ج رَوَاسٍ |
until, when he had leveled [them] between the two mountain walls, (18:96) |
إِذَا سَاوَىٰ بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ |
between the two mountain walls |
صَدَفٌ |
And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai. (23:20) |
وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ |
Mount Sinai |
طُورٌ |
and brought forth from it grain, (36:33) |
وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا |
grain |
حَبٌّ، حَبَّةٌ |
Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date seeds. (6:95) |
إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَالِقُ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوَىٰ |

نَوَاةٌ ج نَوًى |
a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; (2:261) |
أَنبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ |

سُنْبُلٌ، سُنْبُلَةٌ ج سَنَابِلُ، سُنْبُلَاتٌ |
as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people. (2:264) |
كَالَّذِي يُنفِقُ مَالَهُ رِئَاءَ النَّاسِ |
to be seen by the people |
رِئَاءٌ |
Those who make show [of their deeds]. (107:6) |
الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ |
show [of their deeds]. |
رَاءَى-يُرَائِي |
His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust. (2:264) |
فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ صَفْوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ تُرَابٌ |

And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. (23:12) |
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ |

whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." (15:33) |
خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ |

And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. (15:26) |
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ |

He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. (55:14) |
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ |

فَخَّارٌ |
then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. (4:43) |
فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا |

and rained upon them stones of hard clay. (15:74) |
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ |

and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare. (2:264) |
فَأَصَابَهُ وَابِلٌ فَتَرَكَهُ صَلْدًا |

is like a garden on high ground. (2:265) |
كَمَثَلِ جَنَّةٍ بِرَبْوَةٍ |

رَبْوَةٌ |
You will not see therein a depression or an elevation." (20:107) |
لَّا تَرَىٰ فِيهَا عِوَجًا وَلَا أَمْتًا |

أَمْتٌ |
and they, from every elevation, descend (21:96) |
هُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنسِلُونَ |

Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, (26:128) |
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ |

so it yields its fruits in double. (2:265) |
فَآتَتْ أُكُلَهَا ضِعْفَيْنِ |

a garden of palm trees (2:266) |
جَنَّةٌ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ |

نَخْلٌ، نَخْلَةٌ، نَخِي |
it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. (19:25) |
تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا |

Whatever you have cut down of [their] palm trees (59:5) |
مَا قَطَعْتُم مِّن لِّينَةٍ |

until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. (36:39) |
حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ |

جَنَّةٌ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ |

عِنَبٌ، عِنَبَةٌ ج أَعْنَابٌ |
he is afflicted with old age (2:266) |
أَصَابَهُ الْكِبَرُ |

كِبَرٌ (كَبِرَ-يَكْبَرُ) |
then made after strength weakness (30:54) |
ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا وَشَيْبَةً |

and my head has filled with white, (19:4) |
وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا |

اشْتَعَلَ-يَشْتَعِلُ |
and is burned. (2:266) |
فَاحْتَرَقَتْ |

اِحْتَرَقَ-يَحْتَرِقُ |
And they will be burned in a Blaze. (4:10) |
وَسَيَصْلَوْنَ سَعِيرًا |
burn in a Blaze |
صَلِيَ-يَصْلَى (صَلِيٌ) |
Every time their skins are roasted through (4:56) |
كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم |
roast |
نَضِجَ-يَنْضَجُ |
Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." (38:59) |
إِنَّهُمْ صَالُو النَّارِ |
burn in the Fire |
صَالٍ ج صَلُونَ |
except with closed eyes. (2:267) |
إِلَّا أَن تُغْمِضُوا فِيهِ |

أَغْمَضَ-يُغْمِضُ |
An ignorant [person] would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, (2:273) |
يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِ |

and feed the needy and the beggar. (22:36) |
وَأَطْعِمُوا الْقَانِعَ وَالْمُعْتَرَّ |

They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. (2:273) |
لَا يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا |

Allah destroys interest (2:276) |

الَّذِي يَتَخَبَّطُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنَ الْمَسِّ |

[We would then be] like one whom the devils enticed [to wander] upon the earth confused, (6:71) |
كَالَّذِي اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَاطِينُ فِي الْأَرْضِ |

اسْتَهْوَى-يَسْتَهْوِي |
which you find light on your day of travel and your day of encampment; (16:80) |
تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ |

اسْتَخَفَّ-يَسْتَخِفُّ |
You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him (37:162) |
مَا أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَاتِنِينَ |

فَاتِنٌ ج فَاتِنُونَ |
desists may have what is past, (2:275) |
فَلَهُ مَا سَلَفَ |

and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord. (7:154) |
وَفِي نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَة |

and let the one who has the obligation dictate. (2:282) |
لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَن يُمِلَّ هُوَ |

أَمَلَّ-يُمِلُّ |
then let him who is entrusted discharge his trust [faithfully] (2:283) |
فَلْيُؤَدِّ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ أَمَانَتَهُ |

أَدَّى-يُؤَدِّي |
then let him who is entrusted discharge his trust [faithfully] (2:283) |
فَلْيُؤَدِّ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ أَمَانَتَهُ |

ائْتَمَنَ-يَأْتَمِنُ |
if you entrust him with a great amount [of wealth], he will return it to you. (3:75) |
مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ |

أَمِنَ-يَأْمَنُ |
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down (26:193) |
نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ |

And do not be [too] weary to write it, (2:282) |
وَلَا تَسْأَمُوا أَن تَكْتُبُوهُ |

سَئِمَ-يَسْأَمُ |
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people. (31:18) |
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ |

صَعَّرَ-يُصَعِّرُ |
Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah, (4:172) |
لَّن يَسْتَنكِفَ الْمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبْدًا لِّلَّهِ |

اِسْتَنْكَفَ -يَسْتَنْكِفُ |
those upon whom your eyes look down (11:31) |
تَزْدَرِي أَعْيُنُكُمْ |
look down |
ازْدَرَى-يَزْدَرِي |
they will say, "Oh, [how great is] our regret over what we neglected concerning it," (6:31) |
قَالُوا يَا حَسْرَتَنَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيهَا |
neglect |
فَرَّطَ-يُفَرٍّطُ |
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent (56:81) |
أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ |
indifferent |
مُدْهِنٌ ج مُدْهِنُونَ |
And weigh with an even balance. (26:182) |
وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ |

That, then, is an unjust division. (53:22) |
تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَىٰ |

and cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit [should be] taken. (2:283) |
وَلَمْ تَجِدُوا كَاتِبًا فَرِهَانٌ مَّقْبُوضَةٌ |

وَلَمْ تَجِدُوا كَاتِبًا فَرِهَانٌ مَّقْبُوضَةٌ |

"Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. (2:286) |
رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا |

for they will not spare you [any] ruin. (3:118) |
لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا |

And whoever kills a believer by mistake. (4:92) |
وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَأً |
