This is the Book without doubt (2-2) |
ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ |
Book, Book of Deeds, Qur'an |
كِتَابٌ(ج)كُتُبٌ |
The example of those like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. (62:5) |
كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًا |
Written knowledge, Book |
سِفْرٌ (ج) أَسْفَارٌ |
in their inscription was guidance (7:154) |
وَفِي نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى |

The Books of Abraham and Moses. (87: 19) |
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ |
Booklet |
صَحِيفَةٌ ج صُحُفٌ |
who came with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment (3:184) |
جَاءُوا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ |
Books, Book of Zabur |
زَبُورٌ ج زُبُرٌ |
about which there is no doubt, (2-2) |
لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ |
Doubt, disbelief |
رَيْبٌ ، رِيْبَةٌ |
Ah indeed! Are they in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord (41:54) |
أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَاءِ رَبِّهِمْ |
Doubt, hesitation, arguments |
مِرْيَةٌ |
But, Yet they play about or amusing themselves in doubt. (44: 9) |
بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ |
Doubt, hesitation, shyness |
شَكٌّ |
so they are in a confused state. (50: 5) |
فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ |
mistake, confused |
مَرِيْجٌ |
But they are in confusion over a new creation. (50: 15) |
بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ |
Doubt, in-coordination, conceal |
لَبْسٌ |
Until there came to us the certainty (74:47) |
حَتَّىٰ أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ |
Strong conviction, death |
يَقِينٌ |
a guidance for those conscious of Allah (2-2) |
هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ |
righteous, Honest, Obedient |
مُتَّقٍ ج مُتَّقُوْنَ (اِتَّقَى-يَتَّقِي) |
if you should be fearing of Allah. (19:18) |
إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا |
righteous |
تَقِيٌّ |
their father had been a righteous man (18:82) |
وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا |
Honest, righteous, decent |
صَالِحٌ ج صَالِحُوْنَ، صَالِحَةٌ ج صَالِحَاتٌ (صَلَحَ-يَصْلُحُ) |
Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup (76:5) |
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ |
Honest, Blessed, righteous |
بَرٌّ ج أَبْرَارٌ، برَرَةٌ |
And how many a prophet [fought and] with him fought many religious scholars. (3:146) |
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِيٍّ قَاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ |
righteous, ascetic, group |
رِبِّيٌّ ج رِبِّيُّوْنَ |
and increase (the portion of) those who do good." (2:58) |
وَسَنَزِيدُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
righteous |
مُحْسِنٌ ج مُحْسِنُونَ (مُحْسِنَاتٌ) |
instead, "Be pious scholars of Allah (3:79) |
وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ |
pious |
رَبَّانِيٌّ ج رَبَّانِيُّونَ |
for whoever conceals it - his heart is indeed sinful, (2-283) |
وَمَن يَكْتُمْهَا فَإِنَّهُ آثِمٌ قَلْبُهُ |
sinful, convict |
آثِمٌ ج آثِمُونَ |
Allah does not love any disbeliever ungrateful sinner. (2: 276) |
وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِيمٍ |
sinner, convict |
أَثِيمٌ |
whom we thought were evil (38:62) |
كُنَّانَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الْأَشْرَارِ |
Evil, inferior, adverse |
شَرِيرٌ ج أَشْرَارٌ |
We have indeed been sinners' (12:97) |
إِنَّا كُنَّا خَاطِئِينَ |
sinners', evildoer |
خَاطِئٌ ج خَاطِئُونَ (خَاطِئَةٌ) |
they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones (71: 27) |
وَلَا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا |
wicked, immoral |
فَاجِرٌ ج فُجَّارٌ، فَجَرَةٌ |
many of them are defiantly disobedient. (57:16) |
وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ |
disobedient, wicked, impious |
فَاسِقٌ ج فَاسِقُونَ |
Not equal are the blind and the seeing. Nor are those who believe and work righteousness equal to the sinners. (40:58) |
وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَلَا الْمُسِيءُ |
sinners, evil, wrongdoer |
مُسِيءٌ (أَسَاءَ-يُسِيءُ) |
Likewise, to every prophet We assign enemies from among the wicked. (25:31) |
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا مِّنَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ |
wicked, sinners |
مُجْرِمٌ ج مُجْرِمُونَ (أَجْرَمَ-يُجْرِمُ) |
Those who believe in the unseen, and perform the prayers, and give from what We have provided for them. (2-3) |
الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ |
believe, intrust, give security |
آمَنَ-يُؤْمِنُ (إيْمَانٌ) |
It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision (33-36) |
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَن يَكُونَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ |
Believer, Graceful, provider of security |
مُؤْمِنٌ (مُؤْمِنَةٌ) ج مُؤْمِنُونَ (مُؤْمِنَاتٌ) |
As for those who disbelieve, do not let their disbelief grieve you (31:23) |
وَمَن كَفَرَ فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ كُفْرُهُ |
Disbelieve, Disobey, conceal, To be ungrateful |
كَفَرَ-يَكْفُرُ (كُفْرٌ، كُفْرَانٌ، كُفُورٌ) |
then died as disbelievers (47: 34) |
ثُمَّ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ |
disbelievers, Disobedient, ungrateful, |
كَافِرٌ(كَافِرَةٌ) ج كَافِرُونَ/كُفَّارٌ/كَفَرَةٌ (كَوَافِرُ) |
Those who believe in the unseen (2-3) |
الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ |
unseen, concealed, Mystic, Indirect |
غَيْبٌ ج غُيُوبٌ |
Or is he among the absentees? (27:20) |
أَمْ كَانَ مِنَ الْغَائِبِينَ |
Unseen, absentees |
غَائِبٌ (غَائِبَةٌ) ج غَائِبُونَ |
Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret (2:274) |
الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرًّا |
Mysteries, secrets, solitary, secretive |
سِرٌّ |
When you recite the Quran, We place an invisible barrier between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter. (১৭: ৪৫) |
وَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ جَعَلْنَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ حِجَابًا مَّسْتُورًا |
invisible covered, dormant |
مَسْتُورٌ |
so that they do not prostrate themselves to Allah, who brings forth the hidden in the heavens and the earth, (27:25) |
أَلَّا يَسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يُخْرِجُ الْخَبْءَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ |
hidden, secrets |
خَبْءٌ |
On that day all your secrets will be exposed. (69:18) |
لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ |
Secrets, hidden, concealed |
خَافِيَةٌ، خَفِيٌّ، مُسْتَخْفٍ |
Eschew all sin, open or secret (6:120) |
وَذَرُوا ظَاهِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُ |
secret |
بَاطِنٌ، بَاطِنَةٌ |
till we see Allah openly (২:৫৫) |
نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً |
openly, manifestly |
جَهْرَةٌ، جِهَارٌ |
Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public (2:274) |
الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً |
Public, outward |
عَلاَنِيَّةٌ |
Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. (2:168) |
إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ |
clear, open |
مُبِينٌ |
and has completed His favours to you, both seen and unseen? (31:20) |
وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُ ظَاهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً |
seen, visible, outward, apparent |
ظَاهِرٌ (ظَاهِرَةٌ) ج ظَاهِرُونَ |
The Day when they will emerge (40:16) |
يَوْمَ هُم بَارِزُونَ |
Emerge, exposed |
بَارِزٌ ج بَارِزُونَ |
when their fish would come to them on the Sabbath day, visibly on the shore, (7:163) |
إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا |

شَارِعٌ ج شُرَّعٌ |
