Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you (4-1) |
إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا |
observer, maintainer |
رَقِيبٌ |
Allah is Ever-All-Able to do everything (4-85) |
وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّقِيتًا |
sustainer, preserver |
مُقِيتٌ |
That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice (4-3) |
ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰ أَلَّا تَعُولُوا |
partiality or bias |
عَالَ-يَعُولُ |
And give women their dowries as a free gift (4-4) |
وَآتُوا النِّسَاءَ صَدُقَاتِهِنَّ نِحْلَةً |
spontaneously |
نِحْلَةٌ |
And enjoy it without fear(4-4) |
فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا مَّرِيئًا |
with satisfaction |
هَنِئَةٌ |
And enjoy it without fear(4-4) |
فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا مَّرِيئًا |
freely |
مَرِئٌ |
And whoever amongst guardians is rich,He should take no wages (4-6) |
وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ |
abstain |
اِسْتَعَفَّ-يَسْتَعِفُّ |
And avoid Taghut (16-36) |
وَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ |
keep in, eliminate |
اِجْتَنَبَ-يَجْتَنِبُ |
But it will be avoided by the wretched (87-11) |
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى |
|
تَجَنَّبَ-يَتَجَنَّبُ |
And keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols (14-35) |
وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ الْأَصْنَامَ |
put away, protect |
جَنَبَ-يَجْنُبُ |
The pious and righteous will be far removed from Hell (92-17) |
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى |
|
جَنَّبَ-يُجَنِّبُ |
Make the stages between our journey longer (34-19) |
بَاعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا |
make distance, make longer |
بَاعَدَ-يُبَاعِدُ |
A stated portion (4-7) |
نَصِيبًا مَّفْرُوضًا |
assigned |
مَفْرُوضٌ |
The Command of Allah is a decree determined (33-38) |
وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قَدَرًا مَّقْدُورًا |
competent, worthy, proper, |
مَقْدُورٌ |
And it is a matter decreed (19-21) |
وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا |
ultimate, triable, |
مَقْضِيٌّ |
At the time of division of wealth (4-8) |
وَإِذَا حَضَرَ الْقِسْمَةَ |
division |
قِسْمَةٌ (قَسَمَ-يَقْسِمُ) |
Then those angels who distribute blessings by Allah’s command (51-4) |
فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْرًا |
distributer |
مُقَسِّمَةٌ ج مُقَسِّمَاتٌ |
You know not which of them are nearest to you in benefit (4-11) |
لَا تَدْرُونَ أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ لَكُمْ نَفْعًا |
know |
دَرَى-يَدْرِي |
And you shall always discover treachery in them (5-13) |
وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَائِنَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ |
know, peep |
اطَّلَعَ-يَطَّلِعُ |
Will you look down? (37-54) |
هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ |
informed,examining |
مُطَّلِعٌ ج مُطَّلِعُونَ |
If a man have no child then he have inheritance (4-12) |
وَإِن كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُورَثُ كَلَالَةً |
unclaimed person |
كَلَالَةٌ |
And that will be the great success (4-13) |
وَذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ |
success |
فَوْزٌ، مَفَازٌ |
The plot of Firaun’s led to nothing but loss and destruction (40-37) |
وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٍ |
be lost,suffer |
تَبَابٌ |
Your father’s sisters (4-23) |
عَمَّاتُكُمْ |
peternal aunt |
عَمَّةٌ ج عَمَّاتٌ |
And the daughters of your paternal uncles (33-50) |
وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ |
peternal uncle |
عَمٌّ ج أَعْمَامٌ |
Your mother’s sisters (4-23) |
خَالَاتُكُمْ |
maternal aunt |
خَالَةٌ ج خَلَاتٌ |
And the daughters of your maternal uncles (33-50) |
وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ |
maternal uncle |
خَالٌ ج أَخْوَالٌ |
Your step daughters under your guardianship (4-23) |
وَرَبَائِبُكُمُ اللَّاتِي فِي حُجُورِكُم |
lap, guardianship |
حُجُرٌ ج حُجُورٌ |
Those who accuse chaste women (24-4) |
وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ |
chaste |
مُحْصَنَةٌ ج مُحْصَنَاتٌ |
And give them their Mahr according to what is reasonable,they should be chaste,not adulterous nor taking boy-friends (4-25) |
وَآتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَاتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَافِحَاتٍ |
unchaste |
مُسَافِحَةٌ ج مُسَافِحَاتٌ |
The fornicatress none can marry her but a fornicator or an idolater (24-3) |
وَالزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنكِحُهَا إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوْ مُشْرِكٌ |
wanton |
زَانِيَةٌ |
Nor am i unchaste? (19-20) |
وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا |
wicked, impure |
بَغِيٌّ |
And also women already married (4-24) |
وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ |
chaste woman |
مُحْصِنٌ ج مُحْصِنُونَ |
And give them their Mahr according to what is reasonable,they should chaste,not adulterous nor taking boy-friends (4-25) |
وَآتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَاتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَافِحَاتٍ |
unholy |
مُسَافِحٌ ج مُسَافِحُونَ |
The fornicator shall not marry any but a fornicatress or idolatress (24-3) |
الزَّانِي لَا يَنكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةً |
filthy |
زَانٍ |
So with those of whom you have enjoyed sexual relations (4-24) |
فَمَا اسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهِ مِنْهُنَّ |
enjoy |
اِسْتَمْتَعَ-يَسْتَمْتِعُ |
Nor taking paramours(4-25) |
وَلَا مُتَّخِذَاتِ أَخْدَانٍ |
who take paramours, lass |
خِدْنٌ ج أَخْدَانٌ |
Verily We shall cast him in to the fire (4-30) |
فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَارًا |
burn, set fire |
أَصْلَى-يَصْلِي |
Then throw him in the blazing Fire (69-31) |
ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ |
anneal, mortify |
صَلَّى-يُصَلِّي (تَصْلِيَةٌ) |
They said:Burn him (21-68) |
قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ |
burn down, char, |
حَرَّقَ-يُحَرِّقُ |
That will scald their faces (18-29) |
يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ |
scald, baking |
شَوَى-يَشْوِي |
The Fire will burn their faces (23-104) |
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ |
burn, set fire, scald |
لَفحَ-يَلْفَحُ |
Then they will be burnt in the Fire (40-72) |
ثُمَّ فِي النَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ |
kindle, inflame, fire up |
سَجرَ-يَسْجرُ |
Burning the skins (74-29) |
لَوَّاحَةٌ لِّلْبَشَرِ |
consuming, swallowing |
لَوَّاحَةٌ |
And that is so easy for Allah (4-30) |
وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا |
easy |
يَسِيرٌ |
Your Lord said:That is easy fo Me (19-21) |
قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ |
simple, easier, oneasy |
هَيِّنٌ |
And it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers (25-26) |
وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ عَسِيرًا |
hard |
عسيرٌ |
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women (4-34) |
الرِّجَالُ قَوَّامُونَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ |
maintainer |
قَوَّام ٌج قَوَّامُونَ |
Noble Entrance (4-31) |
مُّدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا |
entered, wayin |
مُدْخَلٌ |
If you see ill conduct, admonish them (4-34) |
وَاللَّاتِي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ |
ignor, misuse |
نُشُوزٌ |
And the neighbour who is near to kin,the neighbour who is a stranger (4-36) |
وَالْجَارِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْجَارِ الْجُنُبِ |
neighbour, helpmate |
جَارٌ |
Then they will not be able to stay in as your neighbours but a little while (33-60) |
ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا |
become neighbour |
جَاوَرَ-يُجَاوِرُ |
O you who believe,approach not As-Salat when you are in a drunken state (4-43) |
لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَارَىٰ |
drunk |
سَكْرَانُ ج سُكَارَى |
Don’t perform salat when you are in a drunken state until you know what you utter,nor when you are in a state of Janaba (4-43) |
لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا |
state of janaba, aloof, distance |
جُنُبٌ |
Have not yet taken a bath (4-43) |
حَتَّىٰ تَغْتَسِلُوا |
wash |
اِغْتَسَلَ-يَغْتَسِلُ |
Then wash your own face (5-6) |
فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ |
cleanup, wash |
غَسَلَ-يَغْسِلُ |
This is a spring of water to wash in,cool and a drink (38-42) |
هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ |
bathroom, washroom, lavatory |
مُغْتَسَلٌ |
One of you comes after answering the call of nature (4-43) |
جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنكُم مِّنَ الْغَائِطِ |
toilet |
غَائِطٌ |
Perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands (4-43) |
فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا |
perform tayammum |
تَيَمَّمَ-يَتَيَمَّمُ |
Rub your faces and hands (4-43) |
فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ |
rub |
مَسَحَ-يَمْسَحُ (مَسْحٌ) |
