We divided the sea for you (2:50)

وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ الْبَحْرَ

Divide

فَرَقَ-يَفْرِقُ (فَرْقٌ)

part with them on equitable terms (65:2)

أَوْ فَارِقُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ

Part

فَارَقَ-يُفَارِقُ (فِرَاقٌ)

who divide their religion and break up into sects (6:159)

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ

break up

فَرَّقَ-يُفَرِّقُ (تَفْرِيقٌ)

the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder (21:30)

أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا

Asunder

فَتَقَ-يَفْتُقُ

if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst set aside (33:51)

وَمَنِ ابْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ

set aside

عَزَلَ-يَعْزِلُ

until He separates what is evil from what is good (3-179)

حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ

Separate

مَازَ-يَمِيزُ

We shall separate them (10:28)

فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ

Separate

زَيَّلَ-يُزيِّلُ

A great army is gathering against you (3:173)

إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ

Gathering

جَمَعَ-يَجْمَعُ (جَمْعٌ)

Therefore concert your plan (20:64)

فَأَجْمِعُوا كَيْدَكُمْ

Concert

أَجْمَعَ-يُجْمِعُ

Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation (79:23)

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ

collected

حَشَرَ-يَحْشُرُ (حَشْرٌ)

The Night and its Homing (84:17)

وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

Homing

وَسَقَ-يَسِقُ

Sea

بَحْرٌ ج بِحَارٌ، أَبْحُرٌ

The waters completely overwhelmed them and covered them up (20:78)

فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ الْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ

Waters

يَمٌّ

He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea (6:59)

وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ

Earth

بَرٌّ

And cause Pharao’s people to drawn. (2:50)

وَأَغْرَقْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ

drown, go under

أَغْرَقَ- يُغْرِقُ

when overwhelmed with the flood (10:90)

حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ الْغَرَقُ

Overwhelmed

غَرَقٌ، غَرْقٌ

The waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. (11:43)

وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِينَ

those overwhelmed in the Flood

مُغْرَقٌ ج مُغْرَقُونَ

Night

لَيْلَةٌ، لَيْلٌ ج لَيَالٍ

The coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep (7:97)

أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ

by night

بَيَاتٌ

They came to their father in the early part of the night, weeping. (12:16)

وَجَاءُوا أَبَاهُمْ عِشَاءً يَبْكُونَ

early part of the night

عِشَاءٌ

Pray for forgiveness in the early hours of the morning (3:17)

وَالْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالْأَسْحَارِ

early hours of the morning

سَحَرٌ ج أَسْحَارٌ

Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day (38:18)

يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ

break of day

عَشِيٌّ، عَشِيَّةٌ

And glorify Him morning and evening. (33:42)

وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا

Evening

أَصِيلٌ ج أَصَالٌ

He told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. (19:11)

فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا

Morning

بُكْرَةٌ

celebrate the praises of thy Lord again and again, and glorify Him in the evening and in the morning (3:41)

وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِبْكَارِ

Morning

إبْكَارٌ

The day to make things visible (10:67)

وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا

Day

نَهَارٌ

by the Dawn as it shineth forth (74:34)

وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ

Dawn

صُبْحٌ

evil will be the morning for those who were warned (37:177)

فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنذَرِينَ

Morning

صَبَاحٌ

who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face . (18:28)

يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ

Morning

غَدَاةٌ

its coming in broad daylight (7:98)

أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى

Daylight

ضُحَى

By the break of Day (89:1)

وَالْفَجْرِ

break of Day

فَجْرٌ

in his absence ye took the calf (for worship), (2:51)

ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِهِ

Took

اِتَّخَذَ-يَتَّخِذُ (اِتِّخَاذٌ)

Nor is it for helpers such as Me to take as lead (men) astray! (18:51)

وَمَا كُنتُ مُتَّخِذَ الْمُضِلِّينَ عَضُدًا

To take

مُتَّخِذٌ ج مُتَّخِذُونَ (مُتَّخِذَاتٌ)

Calve

عِجْلٌ

Yet we pardoned you. (2:52)

ثُمَّ عَفَوْنَا عَنكُم

To forgive

عَفَا-يَعْفُو

ask for forgiveness for their sins (3:135)

وَمَن يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ

Forgive

غَفَرَ-يَغْفِرُ (غُفْرَانٌ، مَغْفِرَةٌ)

And say, 'Relieve us of our burdens. (2:58)

وَقُولُوا حِطَّةٌ نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ

humiliation, degradation

حِطَّةٌ

Allah said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness. (18:86)

قُلْنَا يَا ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ إِمَّا أَن تُعَذِّبَ

Punish

عَذَّبَ-يُعَذِّبُ

And if you punish , (16:126)

وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا

Punish

عَاقَبَ-يُعَاقِبُ

Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution (5:95)

وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو انتِقَامٍ

Retribute

اِنْتَقَمَ-يَنْتَقِمُ (انْتِقَامٌ)

And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion(2:53)

وَإِذْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَالْفُرْقَانَ

Criterion

فُرْقَانٌ

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves. (2:54)

وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنفُسَكُم

nation, people

قَوْمٌ

every people knew its watering place. (2:60)

قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ

People

أُنَاسٌ

And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations. (7:160)

وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا

Descendant

أَسْبَاطٌ

there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner. (35:24)

وَإِن مِّنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ

Nation

أُمَّةٌ ج أُمَمٌ

And fear He who created you and the former creation. (26:184

خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ الْأَوَّلِينَ

Former creation

جِبِلَّةٌ

and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another (49:13)

وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا

Tribes

شَعْبٌ ج شُعُوبٌ

Tribe ,Tribes

قَبِيلَةٌ ج قَبَائِلُ

made its people into factions (28:4)

وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعًا

Tribe,

factions

شِيْعَةٌ ج شِيْعٌ، أَشْيَاعٌ

And his nearest kindred who shelter him (70:13)

وَفَصِيلَتِهِ الَّتِي تُؤْوِيهِ

kindred

فَصِيلَةٌ

And warn, your closest kindred (26:214)

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ

Closest kindred

عَشِيْرٌ

O company of jinn and mankind (6:130)

يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ

Company

مَعْشَرٌ

That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator. (2:54)

ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ عِندَ بَارِئِكُمْ

Creator

بَارِئٌ

Indeed,I am going to create a human being from clay (38:71)

إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن طِينٍ

Create

خَالِقٌ، خَلَّاخٌ ج خَالِقُونَ

Creator of the heavens and earth (12:101)

فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

Creator

فَاطِرٌ

Originator of the heavens and the earth(6:101)

بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

Originator

بَدِيعٌ

are We the producer? (56:72)

أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِئُونَ

Producer

مُنْشِئٌ ج مُنْشِئُونَ

those are the best of creatures (98:7)

أُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ

Creatures

بَرِيَّةٌ

you have already known the first creation (56:62)

وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ

Creation

نَشْأَةٌ

Kill yourselves. (2:54)

فَاقْتُلُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ

kill

قَتَلَ-يَقْتُلُ (قَتلٌ)

[Pharaoh] said,We will kill their sons (7:127)

قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ

Kill

قَتَّلَ-يُقتِّلُ (تَقْتِيلٌ)

you were killing the enemy by His permission (3:152)

إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِ

Killing

حَسَّ-يَحُسُّ

And We shaded you with clouds

(2:57)

وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْغَمَامَ

Shaded

ظَلَّلَ-يُظَلِّلُ

then he went back to the shade (28:24)

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰ إِلَى الظِّلِّ

Shade

ظِلٌّ ج ظِلَالٌ

[But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame. (77:31)

لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ

cool shade

ظَلِيلٌ

Clouds

غَمَامٌ

When they have carried heavy rainclouds (7:57)

حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا

Cloud

سَحَابٌ

Is it you who brought it down from the clouds ? (56:69)

أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ

Clouds

مُزْنٌ

And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water (78:14)

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِمَاءً ثَجَّاجًا

cloud

مُعْصِرَاتٌ

when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys(46:24)

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ

spreading cloud

عَارِضٌ

Eat from the good things with which We have provided you (2:57)

كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ

Good , Pure

طَيِّبٌ (طَيِّبَةٌ) ج طَيِّبُونَ (طَيِّبَاتٌ)

He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, (59:23)

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ

Pure

قُدُّوسٌ

That is better for you and purer (2:232)

ذَٰلِكُمْ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ

Pure

زَكِيٌّ، زَكِيَّةٌ (زَكَا-يَزْكُو)

And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul (35:18)

وَمَن تَزَكَّىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَتَزَكَّىٰ لِنَفْسِهِ

Purifies

تَزَكَّى-يَتَزَكَّى

until He separates the evil from the good.(3:179)

حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ

Evil

خَبِيثٌ (خَبِيثَةٌ) ج خَبِيثُونَ (خَبِيثَاتٌ، خَبَائِثُ)

and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan (5:90)

وَالْأَزْلَامُ رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ

evil, Unclean,

impure

رِجْسٌ

polytheists are unclean (9:28)

إِنَّمَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ

Unclean

نَجَسٌ

but that which is bad - nothing emerges except sparsely, (7:58)

وَالَّذِي خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا

to be bad

خَبُثَ-يَخْبُثُ

And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. (91:10)

وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا

Insinuating

دَسَّى-يُدَسِّي

And [recall] when We said, "Enter this city. (2-58)

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا ادْخُلُوا هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ

Enter

دَخَلَ-يَدْخُلُ

until a camel enters into the eye of a needle (7:40)

حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ

Enter

وَلَجَ-يَلِجُ

he has not broken through the difficult pass (90:11)

فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ

broken through

اقْتَحَمَ-يَقْتَحِمُ

it was said, "Enter the Fire with those who enter (66:10)

وَقِيلَ ادْخُلَا النَّارَ مَعَ الدَّاخِلِينَ

Enter

دَاخِلٌ ج دَاخِلُونَ

This is a company bursting in with you. (38:59)

هَٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ

Bursting

مُقْتَحِمٌ

So he left it, fearful and anticipating (28: 21)

فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا

Left

خَرَجَ-يَخْرُجُ (خُرُوجٌ)

And is one can be like one who is in darkness, never to emerge therefrom? (6:122)

كَمَن مَّثَلُهُ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِّنْهَا

dissenter, separatist

خَارِجٌ

Enter this city  (2:58)

ادْخُلُوا هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ

City

قَرْيَةٌ) ج (قُرَى

And you,are free of restriction in this city (90:2)

وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ

City

بَلَدٌ )ج (بِلاَدٌ

I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city

(27:91)

أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الْبَلْدَةِ

City

بَلْدَةٌ

there came from the farthest end of the city a man (36:20)

وَجَاءَ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ

City

مَدِينَةٌ

Go into [any] settlement and indeed, you will have what you have asked. (2:61)

اهْبِطُوا مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ

Egypt, country, region

مِصْرٌ

It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated."(15:44)

لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ

gate

بَابٌ (ج) أَبْوَابٌ

Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. (25:70)

مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ حَسَنَاتٍ

Replace ,

بَدَّلَ-يُبَدِّلُ (تَبْدِيلٌ)

So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy. (18:81)

فَأَرَدْنَا أَن يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُ زَكَاةً وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًا

Substitute

أَبْدَلَ- يُبْدِلُ

Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.

(13:11)

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ

Change

غَيَّرَ-يُغَيِّرُ

a party of them used to hear the words of Allah and then distort the Torah after they had understood it (2:75)

ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Distort

حَرَّفَ-يُحَرِّفُ

Allah alternates the night and the day. (24:44)

يُقَلِّبُ اللَّهُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ

Alternate

قَلَّبَ- يُقَلِّبُ

they do not possess the [ability for] removal of adversity from you or transfer [to someone else]."  (17:56)

فَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنكُمْ وَلَا تَحْوِيلًا

transfer

حِوَلٌ، تَحْوِيلٌ

swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company. (8:16)

مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍ

swerve

تَحَرَّفَ-يَتَحَرَّفُ

wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes

(47:15)

فِيهَا أَنْهَارٌ مِّن مَّاءٍ غَيْرِ آسِنٍ وَأَنْهَارٌ مِّن لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُ

Change

تَغَيَّرَ-يَتَغَيَّرُ

[Moses] said, "Would you exchange what is better for what is less? (2:61)

قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِالَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ

Exchange

اِسْتَبْدَلَ-يَسْتَبْدِلُ (اسْتِبْدَالٌ)

There is no changer of His words (18:27)

لَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِهِ

Changer

مُبَدِّلٌ

That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves.  (8:53)

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ

who changes

مُغَيِّرٌ

And [recall] when Moses prayed for water for his people, so We said, "Strike with your staff the stone.". (2:60)

وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ

pray water

اِسْتَسْقَى-يَسْتَسقِي

So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. (7:107)

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

عَصًا (ج) عِصِيٌّ

a creature of the earth eating his staff (34:14)

دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ

stick, staff

مِنْسَأَةٌ

Within it is a flowing spring.

(88:12)

فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ

flowing spring

عَيْنٌ (ج) عُيُونٌ

And they say, "We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring. (17:90)

وَقَالُوا لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ تَفْجُرَ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَنبُوعًا

Spring

يَنْبُوعٌ (ج) يَنَابِيعُ

In both of them are two springs, spouting. (55:66)

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ

Spring

نَضَّاخَةٌ

And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water. (23:৫50)

وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ

مَعِينٌ
