and every people knew its watering place. (2:60)
|
قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ

and wretched is the place to which they are led. (11:98)

وَبِئْسَ الْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُودُ

|
whoever drinks from it is not of me (2:249)

فَمَن شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي

He will gulp it but will hardly swallow it. (14:17)

For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.

There emerges from their bellies a drink (16:69)

No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' (88:6)

Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.

And when My servants ask you, concerning Me - indeed I am near (2:186)
|
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ

سَأَلَ-يَسَأَلُ (سُولٌ، سُؤَالٌ)
|
In gardens, questioning each other (74:40)

فِي جَنَّاتٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ

Then inquire of them, "Are they a stronger creation or those [others] We have created?" (37:11)

فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَا

اِسْتَفْتَى-يَسْتَفْتِي
|
And they ask information of you, "Is it true?" (10:53)

وَيَسْتَنبِئُونَكَ أَحَقٌّ هُوَ

اِسْتَنْبَأَ-يَسْتَنْبِئُ
|
But the answer of his people (27:56)

كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ

|
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. (70:44)

خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ

|
There will afflict those who committed crimes debasement before Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire. (6:124)

سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا صَغَارٌ عِندَ اللَّهِ

|
Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? (16:59)

أَيُمْسِكُهُ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُ فِي التُّرَابِ

That is for them a disgrace in this world (5:33)

Honor belongs to Allah entirely (4:139)

And they were covered with humiliation and poverty (2:61)

Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality (2:268)

الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْفَحْشَاءِ

|
And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills (9:28)

وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ إِن شَاءَ

Or a needy person in misery (90:16)

And if someone is in hardship, then [let there be] postponement until [a time of] ease. (2:280)

who pursues the pleasure of Allah (3:162)

كَمَن بَاءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ

So they returned having [earned] wrath upon wrath. (2:90)

فَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ عَلَىٰ غَضَبٍ

غَضَبٌ (غَضِبَ-يَغْضَبُ)
|
who restrain anger and who pardon the people (3:13)
|
وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ

غَيْظٌ (غَاظَ-يَغِيظُ)
|
who brings upon himself the anger of Allah (3:162)
|
كَمَن بَاءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ

Anger

سَخَطٌ (سَخِطَ-يَسْخَطُ)
|
That is because they followed what angered Allah and disliked [what earns] His pleasure (47:28)

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اتَّبَعُوا مَا أَسْخَطَ اللَّهَ

|
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them (43:55)

فَلَمَّا آسَفُونَا انتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ

|
And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples (43:6)
|
وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِيٍّ فِي الْأَوَّلِينَ

نَبِيٌّ) ج (نَبِيُّونَ ، أَنْبِيَاء
|
There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves (9:128)

لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ

رَسُولٌ (ج) رُسُلٌ
|
Who have disbelieved say, "You are not a messenger." (13:43)

وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا

مُرْسَلٌ (ج) مُرْسَلُونَ
|
But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed (79:21)
|
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
|
Disobeyed
|
عَصَى-يَعْصِي (عِصْيَانٌ، مَعْصِيَةٌ)
|
Indeed, the ones who oppose Allah and His Messenger - those will be among the most humbled. (58:20)
|
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحَادُّونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُولَٰئِكَ فِي الْأَذَلِّينَ
|
Oppose

حَادَّ-يُحَادُّ
|
Let those beware who dissent from the Prophet's order, lest fitnah strike them or a painful punishment. (24:63)
|
فَلْيَحْذَرِ الَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنْ أَمْرِهِ أَن تُصِيبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ أَوْ يُصِيبَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

خَالَفَ- يُخَالِفُ (خِلَافٌ)
|
And it increases them in aversion (25:60)
|
وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُورًا

Aversion

|
And whoever of you devoutly obeys Allah and His Messenger (33:31)
|
وَمَن يَقْنُتْ مِنكُنَّ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ
|
Obey

قَنَتَ-يَقْنُتُ
|
They came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs. (7:138)
|
فَأَتَوْا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰ أَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ

Devotion, adherence

عَكَفَ-يَعْكُفُ
|
Obedience and good words (47:21)

طَاعَةٌ وَقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ

Obedience

طَاعَةٌ
|
And whoever transgresses after that - for him is a painful punishment. (5:94)
|
فَمَنِ اعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

اِعْتَدَى-يَعْتَدِي
|
And those who, when they spend, do so not excessively (25:67)
|
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا
|

أَسْرَفَ-يُسْرِفُ
|
So as for he who transgressed (79:37)
|
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
|
dominate, oppress, tyrannize, transgressed
|
طَغَى-يَطْغَى
|
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion (৪:১৭১)
|
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ
|
Excess

غَلَا-يَغْلُو
|
so judge between us with truth and do not exceed [it] and guide us to the sound path (38:22)

فَاحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ

Exceed

أَشَطَّ-يُشِطُّ
|
And if Allah had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth (42:27)
|
وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ لَبَغَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ
|
Aggress, temptation, tyranny
|
بَغَى-يَبْغِي
|
He raised its ceiling and proportioned it (79:28)
|
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا
|
raise, lift, boost, uplift
|
رَفَعَ-يَرْفَعُ
|
And when We raised the mountain above them (7:171)
|
نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ
|
Raise
|
نَتَقَ-يَنْتِقُ
|
there is no power except in Allah (18:39)
|
لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
|
Power
|
قُوَّةٌ (ج) قُوًى
|
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity (2:286)
|
رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ

|
He is severe in assault. (13:13)

هُوَ شَدِيدُ الْمِحَالِ

And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander (51:47)

وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ

Increase through him my strength (20:31)

One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form (53:6)

Have you seen the one who turned away (53:33)

أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ

So turn away from them and wait. Indeed, they are waiting. (32:30)

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَانتَظِرْ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ

أَعْرَضَ-يُعْرِضُ (إعْرَاضٌ)
|
who turn away from Our verses (6:157)
|
كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَصَدَفَ عَنْهَا

صَدَفَ-يَصْدِفُ
|
Unquestionably, they the disbelievers turn away their breasts to hide themselves from Him. (11:5)
|
أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا مِنْهُ

|
Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth (6:79)

إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ

|
وَجَّهَ-يُوَجِّهُ
|
And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way." (28:22)
|
وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَاءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبِّي أَن يَهْدِيَنِي سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ

Face , direct, guide
|
تَوَجَّهَ-يَتَوَجَّهُ
|
That is the bounty from Allah (4:70)
|
ذَٰلِكَ الْفَضْلُ مِنَ اللَّهِ
|
Bounty
|
فَضْلٌ
|
And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. (16:18)
|
وَإِن تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا
|
Favors
|
نِعْمَةٌ (ج) أَنْعُمٌ ، نِعَمٌ
|
Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? (53:55)
|
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
|
Favours
|
آلَاءٌ
|
May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you (11:73)
|
رَحْمَتُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ
|
Blessdings
|
بَرَكَةٌ (ج) بَرَكَاتٌ
|
As guidance and mercy for the doers of good (31:3)
|
هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّلْمُحْسِنِينَ
|
Mercy
|
رَحْمَةٌ(رَحِمَ-يَرْحَمُ)
|
advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion (90:17)
|
وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ

Mercy
|
مَرْحَمَةٌ
|
One better than him in purity and nearer to mercy. (18:81)
|
خَيْرًا مِّنْهُ زَكَاةً وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًا
|
have mercy, have compassion for
|
رُحْمٌ
|
We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. (57:27)
|
وَجَعَلْنَا فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ رَأْفَةً وَرَحْمَةً
|
mercy, clemency, motherliness
|
رَأْفَةٌ
|
And affection from Us and purity. (19:13)
|
وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَاةً
|
kindness, affection, fondness
|
حَنَانٌ
|
And despair not of relief from Allah. (12:87)
|
وَلَا تَيْأَسُوا مِن رَّوْحِ اللَّهِ
|
happiness, fan, air
|
رَوْحٌ
|
And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath. (2:65)
|
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ الَّذِينَ اعْتَدَوْا مِنكُمْ فِي السَّبْتِ
|
Saturday

اَلسَّبْتُ
(سَبَتَ-يَسْبِتُ)
|
We said to them, "Be apes, despised." (2:65)
|
فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ
|
Ape
|
قِرْدٌ (ج) قِرَدَةٌ
|
We said to them, "Be apes, despised." (2:65)
|
فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ
|
despicable, base
|
خَاسِئٌ (ج) خَاسِئُوْنَ
|
But the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." (5:18)
|
وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ نَحْنُ أَبْنَاءُ اللَّهِ وَأَحِبَّاؤُهُ
|
dear, loved one, well-beloved
|
حَبِيبٌ (ج) أَحِبَّاءُ
|
Allah knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them. (20:110)
|
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ
|
after, behind
|
خَلْفَ
|
is my family more respected for power by you than Allah? But you put Him behind your backs. (11:92)
|
أَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ وَرَاءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا

|
But man desires to continue in sin. (75:5)
|
بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ

And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" (46:24)
|
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا
|

|
مُسْتَقْبِلٌ
|
A clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allah. (3:138)
|
وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
|
preachment, preaching, sermon
|
مَوْعِظَةٌ
|
And my advice will not benefit you. (11:34)
|
وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِي
|
advice, counsel
|
نُصْحٌ
|
Say, "I only advise you of one [thing]. (34:46)
|
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُم بِوَاحِدَةٍ
|
Advise
|
وَعَظَ-يَعِظُ
|
I had certainly conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you. (7:93)
|
لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ
|
advice, counsel
|
نَصَحَ-يَنْصَحُ
|
It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. (26:136)
|
سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ
|
advisory
|
وَاعِظٌ (ج) وَاعِظُوْنَ
|
And I am to you a trustworthy adviser. (7:68)
|
وَأَنَا لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ
|
adviser, counselor
|
نَاصِحٌ (ج) نَاصِحُوْنَ
|
