Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning (2-19)

أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ

thunder

رَعْدٌ

So the lighting overtook them on account of their injustice 4:153

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ

thunder

صَاعِقَةٌ ج صَوَاعِقُ

lightening

بَرْقٌ

They put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal,for fear of death 2:19

يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِم مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ

do, make

جَعَلَ- يَجْعَلُ

Verily I am going to place mankind genreations after generations on earth 2:30

إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً

creator, planner

جَاعِلٌ ج جَاعِلُونَ

finger

إصْبَعٌ ج أَصَابِعُ

Yes,We are able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers 75:4

بَلَىٰ قَادِرِينَ عَلَىٰ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ

tip of finger

بَنَانَةٌ ج  بَنَانٌ

But when they are alone,they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage 3:119

وَإِذَا خَلَوْا عَضُّوا عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ

fingers

أَنْمِلَةٌ ج أَنَامِلُ

They put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal,for fear of death (2-19)

يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِم مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ

ear, hearer

أُذُنٌ ج آذَانٌ

fear, caution

حَذَرٌ (حَذِرَ- يَحْذَرُ)

And when there comes to them news of security or fear they spread it abroad 4:83

وَإِذَا جَاءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ الْأَمْنِ أَوِ الْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا بِهِ

fear, admonish, caution

خَوْفٌ، خِيفَةٌ، تَخَوُّفٌ

 (خَافَ - يَخَافُ)

A party of them fear men as they ought to have feared Allah 4:77

إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ

fear, awe, panic

خَشْيَةٌ

(خَشِيَ- يَخْشَى)

Verily,you are more awful as a fear in their breasts than Allah 59:13

لَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ رَهْبَةً فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنَ اللَّهِ

fear, anxiety, danger

رَهْبٌ، رَهْبَةٌ، رَهَبٌ (رَهِبَ- يَرْهَبُ)

And they will be safe from the terror on that Day 27:89

وَهُم مِّن فَزَعٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ آمِنُونَ

be afraid, suspect

فَزَعٌ (فَزِعَ-يَفْزَعُ)

And would certainly have been filled with awe of them 18:18

وَلَمُلِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ رُعْبًا

fear, awe

رُعْبٌ

Then when the fear had gone away from Ibrahim,and the glad tidings had reached him 11:74

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاءَتْهُ الْبُشْرَىٰ

fear, alarm

رَوْعٌ

If you indeed fear a danger from them

3:28

إِلَّا أَن تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقَاةً ۗ

fear

تُقَاةٌ

Are you afraid of spending in charity before your private consultation? 58:13

أَأَشْفَقْتُمْ أَن تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ نَجْوَاكُمْ صَدَقَاتٍ

be afraid

أَشْفَقَ- يُشْفِقُ

And conceived a fear of them  11:70

وَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً

be timid

أَوْجَسَ- يُوجِسُ

But they are a people hypocrites who are afraid

9:56

وَمَا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ يَفْرَقُونَ

afraid of  separation, fear

فَرِقَ-يَفْرَقُ

death

مَوْتٌ

(مَاتَ- يَمُوتُ)

And then death overtakes him,his reward is indeed with Allah 4:100

ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ الْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ

death

مَوْتَةٌ

We would have made you taste a double portion in this life and a double portion after death 17:75

إِذًا لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ

death

مَمَاتٌ

Who has created death and life,that He may test you

67:2

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ

 life, entity

حَيَاةٌ (حَيَّ- يَحَيُّ)

Verily the home of the hereafter that is the life indeed

29:64

وَإِنَّ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ لَهِيَ الْحَيَوَانُ

life, hereafter

حَيَوَانٌ

Say:Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are all for Allah 6:162

قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

lifetime

مَحْيَا

But Allah encompasses the unbelievers (2-19)

وَاللَّهُ مُحِيطٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ

controler, encompasses

مُحِيطٌ، مُحِيطَةٌ (أَحَاطَ- يُحِيطُ)

And you will see the angels surronding the Throne of Allah from all round glorifying the praises of their Lord  39:75

وَتَرَى الْمَلَائِكَةَ حَافِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ الْعَرْشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ

ambient, surrounding

حَافٌّ ج حَافُّونَ (حَفَّ- يَحُفُّ)

And they will be encircles by that which they used to mock at 39:48

وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

encircle

حَاقَ- يَحِيقُ

On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round). (90: 20)

عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ

مُوصَدَةٌ

When slightly enlight by the lightning

يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ

slightly

كَادَ

The lightning almost snatches away their sight (2-20)

يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ

snatch

خَطِفَ- يَخْطَفُ (خَطْفَةٌ)

And if the fly snatched  away a thing from them,they have no power to release it from the fly 22:73

وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْئًا لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ

take away

سَلَبَ-يَسْلُبُ

Whenever it flashes for them,they walk therein (2-20)

كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا فِيهِ

walk, go

مَشَى-يَمْشِي (مَشْيٌ)

I will not give up travelling until I reach the junction of the two seas or I spend years and years in travelling 18:60

لَا أَبْرَحُ حَتَّىٰ أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَمْضِيَ حُقُبًا

travel

مَضَى-يَمْضِي (مَضِيٌّ)

And the mountains will move away with a movement

52:10

وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا

travel

سَارَ-يَسِيرٌ (سَيْرٌ)

So they departed,conversing in secret low tones 68:23

فَانطَلَقُوا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُونَ

going

اِنْطَلَقَ-يَنْطَلِقُ

And follow the ways of your Lord made easy 16:69

فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا

go, drive

سَلَكَ-يَسْلُكُ

When darkness covers them,they stand still (2-20)

وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا

halt

قَامَ-يَقُومُ (قِيَامٌ)

But stop them,verily they are to be questioned (37: 24)

وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُم مَّسْئُولُونَ

stand, stop

وَقَفَ-يَقِفُ

And when you are told to rise up,rise up 58:11

وَإِذَا قِيلَ انشُزُوا فَانشُزُوا

rise up

نَشَزَ-يَنْشُزُ

Then after the remembrance sit not you in the company of those people who are the Zalimun 6:68

فَلَا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ الذِّكْرَىٰ

sit

قَعَدَ-يَقْعُدُ (قُعُودٌ)

And if Allah willed,He could have taken away their hearing and their sight 2:20

وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ

wish, will

شَاءَ-يَشَاءُ

While you desire to marry them 4:127

وَتَرْغَبُونَ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ

will

رَغِبَ- يَرْغَبُ (رَغَبٌ)

You seek goods of this world’s life 4:94

تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا

seek, want

اِبْتَغَى-يَبْتَغِي (اِبْتِغَاءٌ)

And therein shall be what their souls yearn after and the eyes shall delight 43:71

وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ الْأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ الْأَعْيُنُ

yearn, want

اِشْتَهَى- يَشْتَهِي (شَهْوَةٌ ج شَهْوَاتٌ)

And if they had intended to go forth,they would certainly have provided equipment for it 9:46

وَلَوْ أَرَادُوا الْخُرُوجَ لَأَعَدُّوا لَهُ عُدَّةً

yearn

أَرَادَ-يُرِيدُ

And you have it not in your power to do justice between wives,even though you may wish 4:129

وَلَن تَسْتَطِيعُوا أَن تَعْدِلُوا بَيْنَ النِّسَاءِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُمْ

wish, covet

حَرَصَ- يَحْرُصُ

And you shall have therein what your souls desire 41:31

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ

desire, search

ادَّاعَ - يَدِّيعُ

Certainly,Allah has power over all things 2:20

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

every, all

كُلٌّ

He it is Who created for you all that is on earth 2:29

هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا

altogether

جَمِيعٌ ج أَجْمَعُونَ

And it was said to the people: Are you going to assemble?26:39

وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ

together, combined

مُجْتَمِعٌ

Then place on every mountain a part of them 2:260

ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ جَبَلٍ مِّنْهُنَّ جُزْءًا

part

جُزْءٌ

So he broke them to pieces 21:58

فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا

portion, partially

جُذَاذَةٌ ج جُذَاذٌ

Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest 2:85

أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ

some, part

بَعْضٌ

Who have made the Quran into parts 15:91

parts

عِضِينٌ

And it parted,and each separate part became like the huge,firm mass of a mountain

26:63

فَانفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ

part, portion

فِرْقٌ

To the male,a portion equal to that of two females 4:11

لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْأُنثَيَيْنِ

portion, favor

حَظٌّ

They shall have no portion in the hereafter

3:77

أُولَٰئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ

favor, portion

خَلاَقٌ

And keep up prayer in the two parts of the day and in the first hours of the night

11:114

وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ

first part,

زُلَفٌ

Men shall have a portion of what the parents and the near relatives leave 4:7

لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالْأَقْرَبُونَ

a portion

نَصِيْبٌ

And whoever joins himself in an evil cause shall have the responsibility of it 4:85

وَمَن يَشْفَعْ شَفَاعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُن لَّهُ كِفْلٌ مِّنْهَا

a portion

كِفْلٌ

Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us 26:187

فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ

part

كِسفٌ ج كِسَفٌ

But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects

23:53

فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا

community, society

زُبرَةٌ ج زُبُرٌ، زُبَرٌ

And in the earth are neighbouring tracts 13:4

وَفِي الْأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجَاوِرَاتٌ

part, portion

قِطْعَةٌ ج قِطَعٌ

So surely those who are unjust shall have a portion like the portion of their companions 51:59

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ

nemesis, punishment

ذَنُوْبٌ

And be not like her who unravels her  yarn,disintegrating it into pieces after she has spun it strongly 16:92

وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّتِي نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَاثًا

cut into pieces

نِكْثٌ ج أَنْكَاثٌ

O our Lord,hasten on to us our portion before the day of reckoning 38:16

رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ

day of reckoning

قِطٌّ

some

شَيْءٌ ج أَشْيَاء

powerful, mighty

قَدِيرٌ (قَدَرَ-يَقْدِرُ)

We are the possessors of full power over them 43:42

فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِم مُّقْتَدِرُونَ

possessors of full power

مُقْتَدِرٌ ج مُقْتَدِرُونَ

And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with 23:95

وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَادِرُونَ

capable

قَادِرٌ ج قَادِرُونَ

And most surely I am strong and trusty for it 27:39

وَإِنِّي عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِيٌّ أَمِينٌ

powerful

قَوِيٌّ

You are not ruler of them 88:2

لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ

ruler, powerful

مُصَيطِرٌ

Is not Allah Mighty,the Lord of retribution? 39:37

أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِعَزِيزٍ ذِي انتِقَامٍ

enjoying honor, strong

عَزِيزٌ ج أَعِزَّةٌ

(عَزَّ-يَعُزُّ)

Surely we are masters over them

7:127

وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُونَ

master, winner

قَاهِرٌ، قَهَّارٌ ج قَاهِرُونَ

We could not never have it 43:13

وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ

bring under control

مُقْرِنٌ ج مُقْرِنُونَ

Shaitan has overtaken them 58:19

اسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ الشَّيْطَانُ

conquer

اِسْتَوْحَذَ- يَسْتَوحِذُ

I will most certainly cause his progeny to perish except a few 17:62

لَأَحْتَنِكَنَّ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

defeat,

cut out

اِحْتَنَكَ- يَحْتَنِكُ

It shall be no crime in the weak,nor in the sick,nor in those who do not find what they should spend

9:91

لَّيْسَ عَلَى الضُّعَفَاءِ وَلَا عَلَى الْمَرْضَىٰ وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ مَا يُنفِقُونَ حَرَجٌ

weak, sick

ضَعِيفٌ ج ضُعَفَاءُ، ضِعَافٌ

(ضَعُفَ- يَضْعُفُ)

We were weak in the earth 4:97

قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ

poorly, weak

مُسْتَضْعَفٌ ج مُسْتَضْعَفُونَ

And Allah did certainlyassist you at Badr when you were weak 3:123

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ

scatty

ذَلِيلٌ ج أَذِلَّةٌ

O mankind:Worship your Lord Who created you 2:21

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ

creat, make

خَلَقَ-يَخْلُقُ (خَلْقٌ)

But is inscribe in the Book of Decrees,before We bring in into existence 57:22

إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن نَّبْرَأَهَا

make, describe

بَرَأَ-يَبْرَأُ

Verily i have turned my face towards Him Who has created the heavens and the earth 6:79

إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا

creat, orginate

فَطَرَ- يَفْطُرُ

He brought you forth from the earth 11:61

هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ

created, made

أَنْشَأَ- يُنْشِيءُ (إنْشَاءٌ)

And certainly We have created for hell many of the jin and the men 7:179

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ

ذَرأَ- يَذْرَأُ
