And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue (46:12)

وَهَـٰذَا كِتَابٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا

Arabic

عَرَبِيٌّ

And if We had made it a non-Arabic Qur'an, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? (41:44)

وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا أَعْجَمِيًّا لَّقَالُوا لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ

Non arabic

أَعْجَمِيٌّ

Kill Joseph or cast him out to [another] land (12:9)

اقْتُلُوا يُوسُفَ أَوِ اطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًا

Throw, cast

طَرَحَ-يَطْرَحُ

throw him into the bottom of the well (12:10)

أَلْقُوهُ فِي غَيَابَتِ الْجُبِّ

Bottom,depth

غَيَابَةٌ

Well, pit

جُبٌّ

so it is [now] fallen into ruin - and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace (22:45)

فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ

Well

بِئْرٌ

some travelers will pick him up (12:10)

يَلْتَقِطْهُ بَعْضُ السَّيَّارَةِ

Collect, obtain,pick up

اِلْتَقَطَ-يَلْتَقِطُ

Send him with us tomorrow that he may eat well and play (12:12)

أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًا يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ

Enjoy, eat well

رَتَعَ-يَرْتَعُ

I fear that a wolf would eat him (12:13)

أَخَافُ أَن يَأْكُلَهُ الذِّئْبُ

Wolf

ذِئْبٌ

Rather, your souls have enticed you to something (12:18)

بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًا

Entice, seduce

سَوَّلَ-يُسَوِّلُ

then they sent their water drawer (12:19)

فَأَرْسَلُوا وَارِدَهُمْ

Water drawer, water collector

وَارِدٌ

and he let down his bucket (12:19)

فَأَدْلَىٰ دَلْوَهُ

Bucket

دَلْوٌ

and they were, concerning him, of those content with little (12:20)

وَكَانُوا فِيهِ مِنَ الزَّاهِدِينَ

Ascetic, contenet with little

زَاهِدٌ ج زَاهِدُونَ

Make his stay (among us) honourable (12:21)

أَكْرِمِي مَثْوَاهُ

To honour

أَكْرَمَ-يُكْرِمُ (إكْرَامٌ)

And whoever honors the symbols of Allah (22:32)

وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّـهِ

To honour

عًظَّمَ-يُعَظِّمُ

In order that ye (O men) may believe in Allah and His Messenger, that ye may assist and honour Him (48:9)

لِّتُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَتُعَزِّرُوهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوهُ

To respect, revere

وَقَّرَ-يُوَقِّرُ

She closed the doors (12:23)

وَغَلَّقَتِ الْأَبْوَابَ

To close

غَلَّقَ-يُغَلِّقُ

and she said, "Come, you (12:23)

وَقَالَتْ هَيْتَ لَكَ

Come on!, come you

هَيْتَ

and she tore his shirt from the back (12:25)

وَقَدَّتْ قَمِيصَهُ مِن دُبُرٍ

To tear, rip

قَدَّ-يَقُدُّ

he has impassioned her with love (12:30)

قَدْ شَغَفَهَا حُبًّا

To infatuate, to impassionate

شَغَفَ-يَشْغَفُ

and prepared for them a banquet (12:31)

وَأَعْتَدَتْ لَهُنَّ مُتَّكَأً

Cushion, couch, a banquet

مُتَّكَأٌ (اتَّكَأَ-يَتَّكِئُ)

reclining on adorned couches (36:56)

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُونَ

Leaning,reclining

مُتَّكِئٌ ج مُتَّكِئُونَ

and gave each one of them a knife (12:31)

وَآتَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِّنْهُنَّ سِكِّينًا

Knife

سِكِّينٌ

and said, "Perfect is Allah! This is not a man (12:31)

وَقُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلَّـهِ مَا هَـٰذَا بَشَرًا

Allah forbid!, Allah blameless

حَاشَ لله

And I certainly sought to seduce him, but he firmly refused (12:32)

وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدتُّهُ عَن نَّفْسِهِ فَاسْتَعْصَمَ

Seeking to restrain,abstain, refuse

اِسْتَعْصَمَ-يَسْتَعْصِمُ

and if he will not do what I order him, he will surely be imprisoned (12:32)

وَلَئِن لَّمْ يَفْعَلْ مَا آمُرُهُ لَيُسْجَنَنَّ

To Imprison

سَجَنَ-يَسْجُنُ

And there entered the prison with him two young men (12:36)

وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ السِّجْنَ فَتَيَانِ

Prison

سِجْنٌ

And We have made Hell, for the disbelievers, a prison-bed. (17:8)

وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَصِيرًا

Prison bed, mat

حَصِيرٌ

 I will surely place you among those imprisoned (26:29)

لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ

One who is Imprisoned

مَسْجُونٌ ج مَسْجُونُونَ

Indeed, I have seen myself [in a dream] pressing wine (12:36)

إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَعْصِرُ خَمْرًا

Compress, squeeze

عَصَرَ-يَعْصِرُ

Indeed, I have seen myself carrying upon my head [some] bread (12:36)

إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَحْمِلُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي خُبْزًا

Bread

خُبْزٌ

Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows (12:43)

إِنِّي أَرَىٰ سَبْعَ بَقَرَاتٍ سِمَانٍ

Fat

سَمِينٌ ج سِمَانٌ

being eaten by seven [that were] lean (12:43)

يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ

Lean

عِجَافٌ

They said: "A confused medley of dreams (12:44)

قَالُوا أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلَامٍ

Confused, muddled

ضِغْثٌ ج أَضْغَاثٌ

he had furnished them forth with provisions (suitable) for them (12:59)

جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ

To equip, prepare, furnish, supply someone

جَهَّزَ-يُجَهِّزُ

Put their merchandise into their saddlebags (12:62)

اِجْعَلُوا بِضَاعَتَهُمْ فِي رِحَالِهِمْ

Baggage

رَحْلٌ ج رِحَالٌ

And we will obtain supplies for our family (12:65)

وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا

Get provisions, to provide for

مَارَ-يَمِيرُ

a need within the soul of Jacob (12:68)

حَاجَةً فِي نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ

Need, necessity

حَاجَةٌ

We are missing the measure of the king (12:72)

نَفْقِدُ صُوَاعَ الْمَلِكِ

Beaker,cup, jar

صُوَاعٌ

There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring (37:45)

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ

Cup

كَأْسٌ

Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold (43:71)

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٍ مِّن ذَهَبٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ

Vessel,glass, goblet

كُوبٌ ج أَكْوَابٌ

and I am responsible for it (12:72)

وَأَنَا بِهِ زَعِيمٌ

Responsible, leader, chief

زَعِيمٌ

indeed you have made Allah your surety (16:91)

وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ اللَّـهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا

Guarantor, guarantee

كَفِيلٌ

Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds (74:38)

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ

Held in Pledge, responsible

رَهِينٌ، رَهِينَةٌ

So he began [the search] with their bags before the bag of his brother (12:76)

فَبَدَأَ بِأَوْعِيَتِهِمْ قَبْلَ وِعَاءِ أَخِيهِ

Bag, baggage

وِعَاءٌ ج أَوْعِيَةٌ

So I will never leave [this] land (12:80)

فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ الْأَرْضَ

Quit,leave

بَرِحَ-يَبْرَحُ

I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah (12:86)

إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّـهِ

To complain

شَكَا-يَشْكُو

directs her complaint to Allah (58:1)

وَتَشْتَكِي إِلَى اللَّـهِ

To complain

اِشْتَكَى-يَشْتَكِي

No blame will there be upon you today (12:92)

لَا تَثْرِيبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ

Blame, reproach(n)

تَثْرِيبٌ

if you did not think me weakened in mind (12:94)

لَوْلَا أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ

Thinking someone to be weak in mind or senile

فَنَّدَ-يُفَنِّدُ

indeed you are in your [same] old error (12:95)

إِنَّكَ لَفِي ضَلَالِكَ الْقَدِيمِ

Old, ancient

قَدِيمٌ

and bring into being a new creation (14:19)

وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

New

جَدِيدٌ

fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord (21:2)

يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ

New, modern, fresh

مُحَدَّثٌ

Say: I am not an innovation among the Messengers (46:9)

قُل مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ

New,original

بِدْعٌ

and brought you (all here)out of the desert (12:100)

وَجَاءَ بِكُم مِّنَ الْبَدْوِ

Desert, bedouin life

بَدْوٌ
