And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muhammad], a written scripture on a page (6-7)

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ كِتَابًا فِي قِرْطَاسٍ

paper

قِرْطَاسٌ ج قَرَاطِيسُ

like a written scroll is rolled (21-104)

كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ

(of) a scroll,

rock

سِجِلٌّ

And we will not be resurrected(6-29)

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ

resurrected

 

مَبْعُوثٌ ج مَبْعُوثُونَ

And we will not be resurrected (44-35)

     وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ

            revivable

 

مُنْشَرٌ ج مُنْشَرُونَ

And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another (6-164)

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ

burden

وِزْرٌ ج أَوزَارٌ

And they carry your loads to a land(16-7)

وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍ

loads

ثِقْلٌ ج أَثْقَالٌ

Nothing of it will be carried

(35-18)

لَا يُحْمَلْ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ

load

حِمْلٌ

And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] (51-2)

فَالْحَامِلَاتِ وِقْرًا

heavy, heavy loads

وِقْرٌ

When he ran away to the laden ship(37-140)

إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ

laden

مَشْحُونٌ

Then if you are able to seek a tunnel into the earth or a stairway into the sky (6-35)

أَن تَبْتَغِيَ نَفَقًا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًا فِي السَّمَاءِ

tunnel

نَفْقٌ

And it took its course into the sea, slipping away

(18-61)

فَاتَّخَذَ سَبِيلَهُ فِي الْبَحْرِ سَرَبًا

tunnel, course, like mirage

سَرَبٌ

Then if you are able to seek a tunnel into the earth or a stairway into the sky (6-35)

أَن تَبْتَغِيَ نَفَقًا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًا فِي السَّمَاءِ

stairway

سُلَّمٌ

And stairways of silver upon which to mount(43-33)

وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ

stairways

مَعْرَجٌ ج مَعَارِجُ

Bird that flies with its wings

(6-38)

طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ

fly

طَارَ-يَطِيرُ

Bird that flies with its wings

(6-38)

طَائِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ

wing

جَنَاحٌ ج أَجْنِحَةٌ

And they were [then] in despair (6-44)

فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْلِسُونَ

despair

مُبْلِسٌ ج مُبْلِسُونَ

So do not be of the despairing (15-55)

فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الْقَانِطِينَ

despaired

قَانِطٌ ج قَانِطُونَ

But if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing

(41-49)

وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَئُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ

 very dissappointed, very frustated

قَانُوطٌ

But if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing

(41-49)

وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَئُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ

frustated

يَؤُوسٌ

Indeed, we are desirous toward Allah (9-59)

إِنَّا إِلَى اللَّهِ رَاغِبُونَ

desirous, hopeful

رَاغِبٌ

So the people that committed wrong were eliminated(6-45)

فَقُطِعَ دَابِرُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا

root

دَابِرٌ

Left standing on their trunks

(59-5)

تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَائِمَةً عَلَىٰ أُصُولِهَا

trunk

أَصْلٌ ج أُصُولٌ

Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord (52-37)

أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ

treasury

 

خِزَانَةٌ ج خَزَائِنُ

And you are not its treasurers. (15-22)

وَمَا أَنتُمْ لَهُ بِخَازِنِينَ

treasurers

خَازِنٌ ج خَازِنُونَ

And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His countenance

(6-52)

وَلَا تَطْرُدِ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ

drive away

طَرَدَ-يَطْرُدُ

Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment (37-9)

دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ

repelled

دُحُورٌ

And I am not one to drive away those who have believed (11-29)

وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

exterminator

 

طَارِدٌ

And with Him are the keys of the unseen (6-59)

وَعِندَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ

key

مِفْتَاحٌ ج مَفَاتِحُ

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth

(42-12)

لَهُ مَقَالِيدُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

storehouse,

key

مَقَالِيدُ

Or are there locks upon [their] hearts? (47-24)

أَمْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا

lock

قُفْلٌ ج أَقْفَالٌ

Not a leaf falls but that He knows it (6-59)

وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا

fall

سَقَطَ-يَسْقُطُ

It will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates (19-25)

تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا

to fall, to drop

سَاقَطَ-يُسَاقِطُ

And he who associates with Allah - it is as though he had fallen from the sky (22-31)

وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ

to be fallen

خَرَّ-يَخِرُّ

And when they are [lifeless] on their sides(22-36)

فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا

to fall, to fall down on sides

وَجَبَ- يَجِبُ

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling

(52-44)

وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا

falling

سَاقِطٌ

Or [could] let fall upon them fragments from the sky

(34-9)

أَوْ نُسْقِطْ عَلَيْهِمْ كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ

to fall, to drop

أَسْقَطَ

Not a leaf falls but that He knows it (6-59)

وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا

leaf

وَرَقَةٌ ج وَرَقٌ

and their trait is mentioned in the Injeel; like a cultivation that sprouted its shoot (48-29)

وَمَثَلُهُمْ فِي الْإِنجِيلِ كَزَرْعٍ أَخْرَجَ شَطْأَهُ

shoot

شَطَأٌ

nor anything wet or dry  (6-59)

وَلَا رَطْبٍ وَلَا يَابِسٍ

wet , moist

رَطْبٌ

And seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry (12-43)

وَسَبْعَ سُنبُلَاتٍ خُضْرٍ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَاتٍ

dry

يَابِسٌج (يَابِسَاتٌ)

And strike for them a dry path through the sea

(20-77)

فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيقًا فِي الْبَحْرِ يَبَسًا

dry

يَبَسٌ

Then they dry and you see them turned yellow

(39-21)

أَلْوَانُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا

dry up

هَاجَ-يَهِيجُ

Like one whom the devils enticed [to wander] upon the earth confused (6-71)

كَالَّذِي اسْتَهْوَتْهُ الشَّيَاطِين فِي الْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ

confused

حَيْرَان

Do you not see that in every valley they roam? (26-225)

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ

roam

هَامَ-يَهِيمُ

And His is the dominion [on] the Day the Horn is blown

(6-73)

وَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ

horn

صُورٌ

And when the trumpet is blown (74-8)

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ

trumpet

نَاقُورٌ

And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth

(6-75)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُرِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

the kingdom

مَلَكُوتٌ

He saw a star (6-76)

رَأَىٰ كَوْكَبًا

star

كَوْكَبٌ ج كَوَاكِبُ

And when the stars fall, dispersing (81-2)

وَإِذَا النُّجُومُ انكَدَرَتْ

star

نَجْمٌ ج نُجُومٌ

And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius (53-49)

 

وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرَىٰ

sirius

الشِعْرَى

So I swear by the retreating stars (81-15)

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ

retreating stars

خُنَّسٌ

But when it set, he said, "I like not those that disappear."

(6-76)

فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَا أُحِبُّ الْآفِلِينَ

setting of

آفِلٌ ج آفِلُونَ

But when it set, he said, "I like not those that disappear."

(6-76)

فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَا أُحِبُّ الْآفِلِينَ

setting of

أَفَلَ-يَأْفُلُ/يَأْفِلُ

he found it setting in a muddy spring (18-86)

وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ

setting of

غَرَبَ-يَغْرُبُ (غُرُوبٌ)

You would see the sun when it rose (18-17)

وَتَرَى الشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت

arise

طَلَعَ-يَطْلُعُ (طُلُوعٌ)

And this [Qur'an] is a Book We have revealed [which is] blessed (6-155)

وَهَٰذَا كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ مُبَارَكٌ

blessed

مُبَارَكٌ (مُبَارَكَةٌ)

Then We have entrusted it to a people who are not therein disbelievers (6-89)

فَقَدْ وَكَّلْنَا بِهَا قَوْمًا لَّيْسُوا بِهَا بِكَافِرِينَ

entrust to

وَكَّلَ-يُوَكِّلُ

And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death (6-93)

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ

pang

غَمَرَةٌ ج غَمَرَاتٌ

And you have certainly come to Us alone (6-94)

وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا فُرَادَىٰ

alone

فَرْدٌ ج فُرَادَى

Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date seeds (6-95)

إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَالِقُ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوَىٰ

cleaver

فَالِقٌ

[He is] the cleaver of daybreak (6-96)

فَالِقُ الْإِصْبَاحِ

the daybreak

إصْبَاحٌ

[to praise] with him, exalting [ Allah ] in the [late] afternoon and [after] sunrise

(38-18)

يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ

sunshine

إشْرَاقٌ

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak (113-1)

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ

the dawn

فَلَقٌ

And they called one another at morning (68-21)

فَتَنَادَوْا مُصْبِحِينَ

morning

مُصْبِحٌ

So the shriek seized them at sunrise (15-73)

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ

at sunrise

مُشْرِقٌ ج مُشْرِقُونَ

So I swear by the twilight glow (84-16)

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ

twilight glow

شَفَقٌ

And has made the night for rest (6-96)

وَجَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ سَكَنًا

rest

سَكَنٌ

And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest

(25-47)

جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَالنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًا

to rest

سُبَاتٌ

a place of dwelling and of storage (9-98)

فَمُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمُسْتَوْدَعٌ

warehouse, repository, storehouse

مُسْتَوْدَعٌ

And We produce thereby the growth of all things

(6-99)

فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ

plant

نَبَاتٌ

He causes to grow for you thereby the crops (16-11)

يُنبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ الزَّرْعَ

planting, cultivation, crop

زَرْعٌ ج زُرُوعٌ

And fruit and grass (80-31)

وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا

grass

أَبٌّ

And grapes and herbage

(80-28)

وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا

herbage

قَضْبٌ

And grain having husks and scented plants (55-12)

وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ

husk, a strom

عَصْفٌ

We produce from it greenery

(6-99)

فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًا

greenery, green crops

خَضِرٌ

And will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade

(18-31)

وَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا خُضْرًا مِّن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ

green, greenish

أَخْضَرُ ج خُضْرٌ

And the earth becomes green

(22-63)

فَتُصْبِحُ الْأَرْضُ مُخْضَرَّةً

greenary, meadow

مُخَضَّرَةٌ

Dark green [in color]

(55-64)

مُدْهَامَّتَانِ

dark green garden

مُضْهَامَّةٌ

From which We produce grains arranged in layers

(6-99)

نُّخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّا مُّتَرَاكِبًا

thick dense, overlay

مُتَرَاكِبٌ

And gardens of entwined growth (78-16)

وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا

dense garden

أَلْفَافٌ

And gardens of dense shrubbery (80-30)

وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا

dense shrubbery

غَلْبَاءُ ج غُلُبٌ

And from the palm trees - of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low (6-99)

وَمِنَ النَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌ دَانِيَةٌ

spathe, bunch

طَلْعٌ

And from the palm trees - of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low (6-99)

وَمِنَ النَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌ دَانِيَةٌ

spathe, bunch

قِنْوٌ ج قِنْوَانٌ

And gardens of grapevines and olives (6-99)

وَجَنَّاتٍ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَالزَّيْتُونَ

olive

زَيْتُونٌ، زَيْتُونَةٌ

And pomegranates, similar yet varied (6-99)

وَالرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَابِهٍ

pomegranate

رُمَّانٌ

Look at [each of] its fruit

(6-99)

انظُرُوا إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِ

bear fruits

أَثْمَرَ-يُثْمِرُ

When it yields and [at] its ripening (6-99)

إِذَا أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِ

ripen

يَنْعٌ

It will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates (19-25)

تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا

ripe

جَنِيٌّ
