And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, (2:36) |
وَقُلْنَا اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ |
go down |
هَبَطَ-يَهْبِطُ |
and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them (41:30) |
ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ |
descend upon, descend on |
تَنَزَّلَ-يَتَنَزَّلُ |
or it will descend near their home - until there comes the promise of Allah (13:31) |
أَوْ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبًا مِّن دَارِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَ وَعْدُ اللَّهِ |
descend, cease, being free after removing hajj ehram |
حَلَّ-يَحُلُّ |
and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein (57:4) |
وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا |
ascend |
عَرَجَ-يَعْرُجُ |
or you ascend into the sky 17:93 |
أَوْ تَرْقَىٰ فِي السَّمَاءِ |
ascend |
رَقِيَ-يَرْقَى (رُقِيٌ) |
Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access. 38:10 |
فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ |
Ascend in sky, appear |
ارْتَقَى-يَرْتَقِي |
To Him ascends good speech 35:10 |
إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ |
Ascend , inhabit |
صَعَدَ-يَصْعَدُ (صَعْدٌ) |
[Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone (3:153) |
إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُونَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ |
climbed, climbing while whining |
أَصْعَدَ-يُصْعِدُ |
as though he were climbing into the sky 6:125 |
كَأَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِي السَّمَاءِ |
Climbing, ascending |
تَصَدَّعَ-يَتَصَدَّعُ (يَصَّدَّعُ) |

عَدُوٌّ ج أَعْدَاءٌ |
Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off. 108:3 |
إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ |
Enemy, opponent, hoe |
شَانِئٌ |
Those "gods" will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents 19:82 |
سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا |
opponent |
ضِدٌّ |
Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. 3:28 |
لَّا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
Allies, friend |
وَلِيٌّ ج أَوْلِيَاء |
And there is not for them besides Him any patron. (13:11) |
وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَالٍ |
Friend, guardian, helper |
وَالٍ |
The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all (44:41) |
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْئًا |
Friend, guardian, helper , mearers, dynasty |
مَوْلَى ج مَوَالٍ |
whose keys you possess or [from the house] of your friend (24:61) |
أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُم مَّفَاتِحَهُ أَوْ صَدِيقِكُمْ |
Friend, buddy, ally |
صَدِيقٌ |
Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, 43:67 |
الْأَخِلَّاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ |
Close friends, intimate |
خَلِيلٌ ج أَخِلَّاءُ |
So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 69:35 |
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ |
Close friends, intimate |
حَمِيمٌ |
And We appointed for them companions 41:25 |
وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَاءَ |
companions |
قَرِينٌ ج قُرْنَاءُ |
or come with him the angels in conjunction 43:53 |
أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ |
comrade, companion |
مُقْتَرِنٌ ج مُقْتَرِنُونَ |
and (who) do not take other than Allah, His Messenger and the believers as intimates 9:16 |
وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَا رَسُولِهِ وَلَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلِيجَةً |
Intimate, acknowledged, impart |
وَلِيجَةٌ |
do not take as intimates those other than yourselves 3:118 |
لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ |
intimate |
بِطَانَةٌ ج بَطَائِنُ |
And excellent are those as companions 4:69 |
وَحَسُنَ أُولَٰئِكَ رَفِيقًا |
Close friends, intimate, companions |
رَفِيقٌ |
how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate 22:13 |
لَبِئْسَ الْمَوْلَىٰ وَلَبِئْسَ الْعَشِيرُ |
Protector, associate |
عَشِيرٌ |
you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time (2:36) |
وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ |
For an appointed time, for a time, or settlement |
مُسْتَقَرٌّ |

|
Enjoyable content, Livelihood, Materials |
مَتَاعٌ ج أَمْتِعَةٌ |
aspiring for the goods of worldly life 4:94 |
تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا |
Goods, wealth |
عَرَضٌ |
who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance (19:74) |
هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا |
possessions, Materials |
أَثَاثٌ، أَثَاثَةٌ |
And when he had furnished them with their supplies 12:59 |
وَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ |
goods, Furniture, supplies |
جَهَازٌ |
And when they opened their baggage, they found their merchandise returned to them 12:65 |
وَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا مَتَاعَهُمْ وَجَدُوا بِضَاعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ |
merchandise , Capital, fund, supplies, goods |
بِضَاعَةٌ |
And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah 2:197 |
وَتَزَوَّدُوا فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الزَّادِ التَّقْوَىٰ |
provision |
زَادٌ |
It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world 43:32 |
نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا |
livelihood, provision, food |
مَعِيشَةٌ ج مَعَايِشُ |
And withhold [simple] assistance. 107:7 |
وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ |

And for every nation is a [specified] term 7:34 |

Until the Day of the time well-known 15:38 |
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ |

وَقْتٌ، مَوْقُوتٌ، مِيْقَاتٌ ج مَوَاقِيتُ |
and brought forth after them a generation of others 6:6 |
وَأَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ |

قَرْنٌ ج قُرُونٌ |
there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers 5:19 |
قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ عَلَىٰ فَتْرَةٍ مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ |
Period of suspension, |
فَتْرَةٌ |
a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened 57:16 |
فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ |
Era, time, long period, space |
أَمَدٌ |
so avoid me a prolonged time 19:46 |
وَاهْجُرْنِي مَلِيًّا |
prolonged time |
مَلِيٌ |
But We produced [many] generations [after Moses], and prolonged was their duration 28:45 |
وَلَٰكِنَّا أَنشَأْنَا قُرُونًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ |
Generations, prolonged, duration, cause, reason |
عُمْرٌ |
complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended] 9:4 |
فَأَتِمُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ |

مُدَّةٌ |
will not cease [traveling] until I reach the junction of the two seas or continue for a long period." 18:60 |
حَتَّىٰ أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَمْضِيَ حُقُبًا |

حُقُبٌ ج أَحْقَابٌ |
By time, 103:1 |
وَالْعَصْرِ |

Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. 2:37 |
فَتَلَقَّىٰ آدَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ |
to accept, Welcome |
تَلَقَّى-يَتَلَقَّى |
When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 50:17 |
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ |
Receivers, receive |
مُتَلَقٍّ |

|
Word, sentence, saying |
كَلِمَةٌ ج كَلِمَاتٌ، كَلَمٌ |
|
|
Repentance return, retire |
تَابَ-يَتُوبُ (تَوْبٌ، تَوْبَةٌ) |
Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. 2:37 |
إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Repeatedly Acceptor of repentance |
تَوَّابٌ |
Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than you - submitting [to Allah ], believing, devoutly obedient, repentant, worshipping 66:5 |
أَن يُبْدِلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِّنكُنَّ مُسْلِمَاتٍ مُّؤْمِنَاتٍ قَانِتَاتٍ تَائِبَاتٍ |
repentant Regretful, contrite |
تَائِبٌ (تَائِبَةٌ) ج تَائِبُونَ (تَائِبَاتٌ)، تَوَّبُون |
he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah ] 38:30 |
إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ |
repentant Regretful |
أَوَّابٌ ج أَوَّابُونَ |
he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him [alone] 39:8 |
دَعَا رَبَّهُ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ |
Returning , turning, retreat |
مُنِيبٌ |
whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. 2:38 |
فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ |
follow, Obedience |
تَبِعَ-يَتْبَعُ |
I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. 12:108 |
أَدْعُو إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِي |
follow, follower |
اِتَّبَعَ-يَتَّبِعُ (اتِّبَاعٌ) |
so from their guidance take an example 6:90 |
فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ |
Guidance, example, Obedience |
اِقْتَدَى-يَقْتَدِي |
And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother 5:30 |
فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُ نَفْسُهُ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ |
Obedience, abide by |
أَطَاعَ-يُطِيعُ |

|
sorrow, be worried |
حَزِنَ-يَحْزَنُ (حَزَنٌ) |
so how could I grieve for a disbelieving people 7:93 |
فَكَيْفَ آسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ |
grieve, disappointed |
آسَى-يُؤَسِي |
so do not despair over what they used to do [to me]." 12:69 |
فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
Be sorry, be worried |
اِبْتَأَسَ- يَبْتَئِسُ |
He said, "I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah 12:86 |
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ |
sorrow, Grief, affliction, Mourning, concern |
حُزْنٌ |
So Allah repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you 3:153 |
فَأَثَابَكُمْ غَمًّا بِغَمٍّ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ |
sorrow, |
غَمٌّ |
Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them 18:6 |
إِن لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا |
grief, lamentation, Regret |
أَسَفٌ |
He said, "I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah 12:86 |
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ |
sorrow, Grief, affliction, Mourning, concern |
بَثٌّ |
Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed 58:10 |
إِنَّمَا النَّجْوَىٰ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لِيَحْزُنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا |
Be sorry, grief, be tensed |
حَزَنَ-يَحْزُنُ |
and give them radiance and happiness 76:11 |
وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا |
happiness |
سُرُورٌ |
which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof 27:60 |
ذَاتَ بَهْجَةٍ مَّا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُنبِتُوا شَجَرَهَا |
Beauty, glory, grace, Decorating, |
بَهْجَةٌ |
they will be in a garden [of Paradise], 30:15 |
فَهُمْ فِي رَوْضَةٍ يُحْبَرُونَ |
Entertain, make happy, comfort |
حَبَرَ- يَحْبُرُ |
But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease. 4:4 |
فَإِن طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَن شَيْءٍ مِّنْهُ نَفْسًا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا مَّرِيئًا |
pleasant, Being in happiness |
طَابَ-يَطِيبُ |
But those who reject Faith and belie Our Signs, they shall be companions of the Fire (2-39) |
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ |
Falsify, deny |
كَذَّبَ-يُكَذِّبُ (تَكْذِيبٌ) |
travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth. (3: 137) |
فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
The Rejecters , liars |
مُكَذِّبٌ ج مُكَذِّبُونَ |
Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers 37:37 |
بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
Attested, confirm, adjudge, |
صَدَّقَ-يُصَدِّقُ (تَصْدِيقٌ) |

sign, evidence, Verses, Advice |
آيَةٌ ج آيَاتٌ |
So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah 30:50 |
فَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ آثَارِ رَحْمَتِ اللَّهِ |
evidence, step, sign, Effect, Contribution |
أَثَرٌ ج آثَارٌ |
But already there have come [some of] its indications. 47:18 |
فَقَدْ جَاءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا |
The Signs of Resurrection |
شَرَطٌ ج أَشْرَاطٌ |
And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided. 16:16 |
وَعَلَامَاتٍ ۚ وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ |
Signs, Memorandum, evidence |
عَلَامَة ج عَلاَمَاتٌ |
Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah 2:158 |
إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ |
Symbols, Signs, Memorandum, evidence, token |
شَعِيرَةٌ ج شَعَائِرُ |
And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark 7:48 |
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ |
mark, Symbols, token, Sample |
سِيْمَا |

|
Companion friend compeer |
صَاحِبٌ ج أَصْحَابٌ |
[Moses] said, "Have you torn it open to drown its people? 18:71 |
قَالَ أَخَرَقْتَهَا لِتُغْرِقَ أَهْلَهَا |
people, family, Community, |
أَهْلٌ |
[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied Our signs 3:11 |
كَدَأْبِ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ |
people, family, Community, Dynasty, Group, race, nation |
