Counting: 1-2 The numbers are called عَدَدٌ & which is being counted is called مَعْدُوْدٌ. In the case of 1-2 عَدَدٌ & مَعْدُوْدٌ behave like نَعْتٌ & مَنْعُوْتٌ. |

Counting 11-12 Numbers have two parts. Both parts will be compatible with the gender of مَعْدُوْدٌ . مَعْدُوْدٌ will always be singular mansub(11-99 in all cases). For 12, the case will be changed accordingly. |

Counting 20, 30, 40, 50, ............90 For masculine and feminine مَعْدُوْدٌ this does not change. Ma’dud is singular, mansub. The change of case would be similar to masculine plural form. |

Counting: 23-29 For a masculine object, the word containing tanween (1-9) will be the feminine version of the corresponding word. Such asخَمْسَةٌ ثَلَاثَةٌ ،أَرْبَعَةٌ ، etc. And for the feminine object, the masculine version will be used for the word containing tanween (1-9): خَمْسٌ ثَلَاثٌ ،أَرْبَعٌ ، etc. The case of both part will be changed. |

هٰذَا الْكِتَابُ بِثَلَاثَةٍ وَ عِشْرِيْنَ رِيَالًا |
Counting: 101-102 These numbers contain two parts. As for example-101 students will be broken down into two parts: A Hundred students ( مِائَةُ طَالِبٍ ) and a student طَالِبٌ .The ma’dud after مِائَةُ would be singular, majrur. |

9322 men |
اِثْنَانِ وَ عِشْرُوْنَ وَ ثَلاثُمِائَةٍ وَ تِسْعَةُ آلَافِ رَجُلٍ |
It is noted that here single, tens and hundreds – this order has been followed, but its opposite order is also possible. Each part of these numbers is changed by cases. Example,
I saw 9322 men there. |
رَأَيْتُ هُنَاكَ اِثْنَيْنِ وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ ثَلاثَمِائَةٍ وَ تِسْعَةَ آلَافِ رَجُلٍ |
Examples from Quran-
I saw (i.e., in a dream) eleven planets 12:4 |
إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبًا |
Certainly, the counting of months to Allah is twelve |
إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِندَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا |
If you have 20 steadfast people among you, they will be victorious over two hundred |
إِن يَكُن مِّنكُمْ عِشْرُونَ صَابِرُونَ يَغْلِبُوا مِائَتَيْنِ |
And if you have hundred people then they will be victorious over thousands of disbelievers |
وَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُم مِّائَةٌ يَغْلِبُوا أَلْفًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا |
And when he is grown to full maturity and reaches the age of forty 46:15 |
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً |
It takes thirty months from the pregnancy until the end of milking period. |
وَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا |
And I promised Musa of thirty nights and fulfilled it with ten more |
وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَاثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ |
He stayed among them for 50 less than thousand years |
فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا |
He who is unable to do it will feed sixty poor people. 58:4 |
فَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَإِطْعَامُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا |
And sent him to lacs of people or more than that |
وَأَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ مِائَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ |
