لِكَيْ is an infinite preposition . لِكَيْ means ‘so that’. Verb after it is mansub. Sometimes لِكَيْ can have negative لَا with it and sometimes the لِ of لِكَيْ is dropped. Example:
I learn Arabic so that I can understand Quran. |
أَدْرُسُ الْلُغَةَ العَرَبِيَّةَ لِكَيْ أَفْهَمَ القُرْآنَ الكَرِيْمَ |
Work hard so that you do not fail |
اِجْتَهِدْ لِكَيْلَا تَرْسُبَ |
So that he do not remain unaware of matter after he knows. |
لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِن بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا |
So that we can praise you more. |
كَيْ نُسَبَّحَكَ كَثِيْرًا |
