Generally, detached pronouns are in the state of Marfu, but in the following states they are mansub:
1) If they come before verb as Mafulun Bihi. For example-
نَعْبُدُكَFrom to إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ We only worship you. [We cannot say كَ نَعْبُدُ because كَ is connected]. Similarly, وَإِيَّايَ فَرهَبُوْنَ and fear only me.
2) When Masdar becomes Fael and the pronoun becomes its object. For example-
The Principal’s visit is waiting for us (i.e. we are waiting for the principal’s visit) |
The Principal’s visit is for us today |
3) If it is a connecting preposition and followed by إِلَّا . For example-
Not |
Not |
Do not worship anyone except him |
I only questioned you |
4) If it comes after attached pronoun, which is in the mansub state.
Where is headmaster’s magazine? |
I gave that to you. |
I gave that to him. |
5)If the Khabar of كَانَ is a pronoun, then it can be attached or detached both. example,
No, I don't want to be like that. |
Do you want to be a judge? |
