We saw the uses of هٰذَا/هٰذِهِ and ذٰلِكَ/تِلْكَ   previously. Now we shall see its remaining pattern regarding person & gender.  The demonstrative pronoun is definite and all forms except dual is changeable in marfu, mansub and majrur state.

Example from Quran

So let them worship The Lord of this House, 106:3

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَٰذَا الْبَيْتِ

and this secure city ˹of Mecca˺! 95:3

وَهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ

Indeed, this is in the former scriptures 87:18

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ

That is the greatest triumph. 85:11

ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ

These are two opposing groups that disagree about their Lord 22:19

هَٰذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي رَبِّهِمْ

They are the ones who trade guidance for misguidance. 2:16

أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُا الضَّلَالَةَ بِالْهُدَىٰ

These are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs. 28:32

فَذَانِكَ بُرْهَانَانِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ

 

Often the demonstrative pronouns come as an adjective after proper noun or after ‘muduf ilaihi

which Ibrahim is he?

 مَنْ إِبْرَحِيمُ هٰذَا؟

Headmaster’s this car is beautiful

سَيَّارَةُ الْمُدِيْرِ هٰذِهِ جَمِيْلَةٌ

whose passport is this?

لِمَنْ جَوَازُ السَّفَرِ هَذَا؟

show me your this watch

أَرِنِيْ سَاعَتَكَ هٰذِهِ

اِذْهَبْ بِكِتَابِيْ هٰذَا وَالْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ
