الْمَهْمُوْزُ or Mahmuj verb

The verb whose root contains أ is called الْفِعْلُ الْمَهْمُوْزُ. Example-

الْمَصْدَرُ	أَمْرٌ	الْمُضَارِعُ	الْمَاضِي	Verb
سُؤَالٌ	سَلْ/ اِسْئَلْ	يَسْأَلُ	سَأَلَ	To ask
قِرَاءَةٌ	اِقْرَأْ	يَقْرَأُ	قَرَأَ	To recite
أَخْذٌ	خُذْ	يَأْخُذُ	أَخَذَ	to catch
أَكْلٌ	كُلْ	يَأْكُلُ	أَكَلَ	to eat
أَمْرٌ	مُرْ	يَأْمُرُ	أَمَرَ *	to order
أَمْنٌ	اِيْمَنْ	يَأْمَنُ	أَمِنَ	get safe
اِبَاءٌ	اِيْبَ	يَأْبَى	أَبَى	to disregard
رَأْيٌ	رَ	يَرَى	رَأَى *	to see
اِتْيَانٌ	اِيْتِ	يَأْتِي	أَتَى *	to come
مَشِيئَةٌ	شَأْ	يَشَاءُ	شَاءَ *	to ask
سَوْءٌ	سُؤْ	يَسُوءُ	سَاءَ	be bad
مَجِيءٌ	جِئْ	يَجِيءُ	جَاءَ	to come

Point to be noted:

if the ف kalima is ‘hamjah’ in the case of أَمْرٌ there will be no hamjatul wasli at the beginning. Example, أَكَلَ - يَأْكُلُ - كُلْ
if the ع kalima is hamzah then it can be present or not. Example, سَأَلَ - يَسْأَلُ – اِسْئَلْ/ سَلْ

Quranic Example:

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct. 78:38	يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 84:2	وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
The eldest of them said, “Do you not know that your father had taken a solemn oath by Allah from you, nor how you failed him regarding Joseph before? 12:80	قَالَ كَبِيرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُم مَّوْثِقًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطتُمْ فِي يُوسُفَ
A questioner asked concerning a torment about to befall 70:1	سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ بِعَذَابٍ وَاقِعٍ
So when you read the Qur'an, then seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaytan (The all-vicious, i.e., the Devil). 16:98	فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
